      Thank you very much Hayley i have learned how to cut corners a bit and do these faster. if you get a fine paintbrush and paint with pva glue or mod podge a rough shape of the bosom (boobies) rounds and a line to the back paint a v then a line to join with the boobies shape, use that as a rough guide do all the glittering then just trim the edge into that nice shape like mine. your pearls or gems will hide any slight mistakes.

      or draw it on with a white pencil or even use a cheap white eyeliner if you cant find a white pencil.

    I know a easier way to accomplish the heart shape without doing all of that cutting. You should cut out the heart first and trace the shape with a sharpie or washable marker. Then tape it off along the marker edge and apply mod podge and glitter. That will save you some time and aggravation.

    • @AlisonRussellsCrochetChannel
      @AlisonRussellsCrochetChannel  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I tried that but you have to make the heart markings inside the glass as on the outside it gets stuck under the glue and the time it takes to trim is just as much as I took. Also marking then being careful to paint in the heart shape which still needs to be trimmed. I suppose its what your comfortable doing, even marking a heart shape with tape is fiddly then still needs a bit of reshaping.

    I'm blown away by how many things you're able to create! These glasses, book folds, blankets and can't forget that cute kitty training!
    My question to you is...Would I be able to use a glue such as E6000 for the ribbon part? I love how these turned out, but I'm afraid I'm one of those people who can only take so much fiddling with the ribbon and glue before that whole glass gets thrown across the room! I do need to work on my patience, I know! I am just curious if you know if E6000 is optional!
    Thank you, everything you touch on is amazingly beautiful so I just had to subscribe!

    • @AlisonRussellsCrochetChannel
      @AlisonRussellsCrochetChannel  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      yes you can use E6000 lots of crafters use this glue. I would love to see yours when its done, please come join our craft group all crafters are welcome.

  • @sworley1956
    @sworley1956 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    you could have painted that heart on the glass first to avoid all that cutting (then add your coats of modge podge and glitter

    • @AlisonRussellsCrochetChannel
      @AlisonRussellsCrochetChannel  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      that didn't work as you need the glue to stick to the gas and the paint peels of quicker.

    question: instead of using the craft knife to cut the shape for the top of the dress have you tried the same method with a paint pen and trace the heart and the lining of of the tape? I'm planning on making some of these for a friends wedding

    • @AlisonRussellsCrochetChannel
      @AlisonRussellsCrochetChannel  7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I tried but made a mess. My hand is a lot more steady now so I can paint on a rough shape with the glue and tidy it up when I am done. The more you make you find easier ways to do it and I love all the tips I get xx

    • @diamondapplewhite1576
      @diamondapplewhite1576 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If you haven't done these before and you won't to try would it be easier to do with the craft knife or paint pen?

  • @evemcc9956
    @evemcc9956 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I'm no expert! But, wouldn't it be easier to cut out a paper pattern to trace around the top of the dress with a paint brush and glue. Then, sprankle the glitter on the glue to form a border for the dress. Then. apply the rest of the glue and glitter to the remainder part of the glass, instead of cutting it with a knife?

    • @AlisonRussellsCrochetChannel
      @AlisonRussellsCrochetChannel  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      yes it is easier but someone asked me if I knew how to get the pattern because she didn't have a steady hand to paint it on, I did warn her to be careful with the knife. She wanted an idea to make it as she was having difficulty getting a paper pattern to stay straight because of the shape of the glasses she was using. Thank you for watching and for the feedback I appreciate it. I have done other patterns with tape and with sticky vinyl but if you leave it on past the 2nd layer it tears the glitter off when you peel away the pattern, sticky tape or vinyl

    Nice! What brand glitter did you use on the glass?

    • @AlisonRussellsCrochetChannel
      @AlisonRussellsCrochetChannel  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      its fine glitter I buy mine from Victoria street on ebay they have a website too BUT any brand of glitter will work even the cheap stuff you buy for your kids art will work. I have found if the last coat of glue to seal in the glitter is watered down it keeps its sparkle more.

    Will this work with acrylic paint

    • @AlisonRussellsCrochetChannel
      @AlisonRussellsCrochetChannel  7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes My sister paints them she uses 4 coats of paint to get an even covering. I am sure she puts a last coating of pva glue to help avoid scratching. When you glue the ribbon on the back give it time to dry off so when you cross it over I will not tear off the paint xx Thank you for watching. Please join my facebook group Craftytwunts and show us your glass if you make one I would love to see it.

    amiga vc não conseguiu fazer o entrelaçamento nas costas , peço que faça outro vídeo ensinando esse entrelaçamento e use a cola instantânea ou cola quente.

      Veja como faço isso, então você faz isso com cola instantânea ou cola quente, o método é o mesmo, não importa o que você use. Eu não uso cola instantânea enquanto coloco meus dedos juntos não é nada bom.

    • @AlisonRussellsCrochetChannel
      @AlisonRussellsCrochetChannel  7 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Not everyone learns at a fast pace or think it's simple, so I take my time and explain it fully. I do tell people who watch my tutorials if they find a faster easier way then. The more they make the quicker it becomes. Crafting is open to interpretation and change and they can do it whatever way is best for them I don't mind.

      Fashionable Chambers ...some people learn at a slower pace than others. Just like Allison said.
      And maybe you don’t consider her voice is calming with that Scottish accent. Many many comments left on every one of her tutorials love her accent and love listening to her. Very calming.
