  • Here is part 1 of the only travel guide you need for backpacking Morocco. I have put together ALL the information you need before heading out on your trip to Morocco. I explain where to go in Morocco, which accommodation to stay in (the best hostels), how long to stay in each place and the best places to eat.
    In this Morocco travel guide, I will be answering the frequently asked question of is Morocco safe to travel solo? I'll talk you through any places where I felt unsafe and tell you which places you should avoid on your travels.

    Have you ever been to Morocco before? Which town do you most want to visit?

  • @theadvocate1

    Hey this was very informative, thank you for the insight! I also appreciate the Google Maps images as it makes it easy to locate these place. Desert problems aside, I'm glad you had a (mostly) good time! Morocco looks like an aesthetic treasure to backpack

      Ahh yes, even with the issues in the desert, it was still one of my favourite places that I went in Morocco! Glad you found the video helpful, thanks for watching!😊

    Appreciate your vlog, it's very informative. I'm flying on Monday and cancelled my trip to Tagghazout as I've read loads of horrible stories of everyone getting sick there, so now rescheduling the whole trip and will most likely follow some of your tips. Hope to meet positively spirited people along the way like yourself :)

      Ohh you should still go to Taghazout! Especially if you’d like to surf! Despite lots of people getting sick, I absolutely loved it! I didn’t get sick there but for anyone who did, it didn’t seem to last longer than the one day! But have an amazing time! ☺️

      @@ChelseaAddamsOk, good to know it is not that bad for most, will consider it, although the cities in the north and adventure in the east is lurking strongly now ;)

      @@ChelseaAddams Yeah I've heard it a lot in Turkey (to get your attention). I'd much rather have Turkish fish and sautéed potatoes, fish n chips is overrated af. Except on a summer coastal day.

      its not random at all actually, they yell things at you based on your appearance to get your attention, this happened to my sis, mom and i in turkey, the restaurant and shop owners would yell out "hola shakira" to us because they thought we were spanish lol...they also would yell out "hola beautiful" and stuff like that, they want to get your attention so you go into their shops and spend money

    Heey Chelsea nice video.
    How did you find it to solotravel in morroco compared to other countrys. Did you meet lots of other backpackers in hostels or was it more beeing on your own?

    • @ChelseaAddams
      @ChelseaAddams  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey, thank you! And I met lots of people in morocco, I went the month after they opened to tourism again and there were already quite a few of other backpackers so I imagine there’s even more now! The only place I didn’t meet new people was in Chefchouen, but that’s because I stayed in a hostel with private rooms only, there was another hostel I think I mentioned it in the video, Aline hostel I think , and a lot of people I met said they stayed there in Chefchouen

    Hey thanks for great advice! Did you have any troubles or problems because of ramadam season or was everything as usual? For example restaurant opening times etc

    • @ChelseaAddams
      @ChelseaAddams  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hey, yes once Ramadan started a lot of things were closed, but there were still plenty of options for restaurants that were open for tourists. I can't say I noticed too much about opening times etc though because I joined in with fasting for Ramadan so I wasn't looking for places to eat during the days, but I believe there were still lots of places open. You can watch my vlog from Essaouira to see a bit more what it was like, I didn't show too much about Ramadan in that vlog, but that is the vlog from once Ramadan started so you might get a better idea of what it is like (:

    Great video and sorry you had to go through things against your values and beliefs. Thank you for sharing

      Thank you for watching!! Yes, it wasn't great to experience, definitely ruined certain parts of the trip, but I do understand that the beliefs and culture etc is very different in Morocco and so I get that they don't understand why I don't like to do certain things relating to animals.

    Now I know where the song rock the casbah comes from lol.
    Spray fragrence on a face mask and punch a few holes in it to breathe and avoid skanky smells. I do for our cats litter tray and the smell of my girlfriends chicken pot noodles).
    I did a fast for 14 days while travelling. No hunger after a couple of days and you don't have to worry about skanky loos (you rarely poo) or receiving rubbish meals and you can really enjoy more pricy food when you do decide to dine out.
    I would wear the headscarf for more safety (blokes will be amazed to see a hot western chick). I just went trans so not even going down that road and dressing normally in a Muslim country.
    I've been attacked a few times when travelling so you have to use scare tactics to avoid conflict. I'm too placid.

    • @ChelseaAddams
      @ChelseaAddams  ปีที่แล้ว

      Ahh yeah, I could tell that it would have gotten easier had I carried on fasting! Oh that’s not good, some countries are not in the same place as we are with the LBGTQ+ community 😕 hope they’ve not been anything serious!

    Would it be possible to help me with an itinerary if it's not too much trouble. I love most of the places you mention but with a couple of alterations! I was wondering if you could help me with how long I should stay in each place maybe and how best to travel between each. I'm a fairly new solo traveler and quite nervous about the prospect of Morocco! I hope you don't mind me asking and can help! Many thanks 🙏

    Great information, but you really sound so entitled sometimes. You need to accept you’re in a different culture, and different way of life. If Morocco’s values don’t align with your own, don’t visit.
