My mate said he saw mark kermode in a 3d film laughing his head off. He also said he had a farm foods bag filled with crunchy snacks he'd sneaked in. Fizzy pop and a 12 pack of monster munch.
My suggestions for a few festive Christmas movies 23rd Dec: Videodrome 24th Dec: Eraserhead Christmas Day: Apocalypse Now Boxing Day: Enter the Void 27th Dec: The Exorcist 28th Dec: Irreversible 29th Dec: Blue Velvet 30th Dec: Rosemary's Baby 31st Dec: Touch of Evil 1st Jan: The Thing (1982)
Why can't the US have a magazine guide to good movies to get us through the holiday season like this? Why can't the US have nice things like this?? C'mon now! We need this, too!
Die Hard, Scrooged, Trading Places, Gremlins. If at least one of these films (preferably the first, as it's the greatest Christmas film ever made) isn't watched during the Christmas period, the whole thing is a utter waste of time.
Noah is such an underrated film. I love aronofsky's version, the gorgeous visuals and techniques he does, especially the use of silhouettes. Best of all, even an atheist like me can love it ha.
I never disputed the flood happened, which it didn't, in the sense that the entire world wasn't covered in a flood. The majority of the scientific community refutes 'flood genealogy' as pseudoscience, there's many other 'contenders' to claim is true but not have been empirically proven. Other actual false claims would be every animal (excluding pigs and others) in seven pairs on the ark, a covenant with some floaty, pie-in-the-sky, celestial dictator, noah being 610 years old at the time of the flood (never mind if he even existed at all), the list goes one. Not to mention it's really just a copy of the flood from the epic of Gilgamesh...

That's the sort of celebrity gossip I can enjoy.
I believe this
Peace Biscuits MARK BROKE HIS OWN CODE OF CONDUCT
AHAHAHAHHAHAHA
This is gold.
Every shot in Slow West looks amazing. And Song of the Sea is lovely.
There's been quite a resurgence in Westerns generally over the past five years or so. Slow West certainly stands out though.
It seems to me that you're the expert Mark.
James Breheney I thought it was Gove!
Excellent! I don't live in the UK but I look forward to your British TV movie guide every Christmas :) Merry Christmas Mark
Every entry a surprise. I was pleased to see Mildred Pierce on it. Thanks Mark, keep up the great work.
Oh hi Mark

Christmas Day: Apocalypse Now
Boxing Day: Enter the Void
27th Dec: The Exorcist
28th Dec: Irreversible
29th Dec: Blue Velvet
30th Dec: Rosemary's Baby
31st Dec: Touch of Evil

Jason fox This is the best list but then I noticed they're not all on. Videodrome is on Tuesday though! 😁
Wouldn't think they'd show that on TV. I'm trying to think of the ones I've forgotten
Actually which channel is it on?
I searched for it on sky. Turns out it's on Sky Cinema Greats. So not mainstream TV alas
Come on Mark we all know that Christmas is for watching Die Hard
Oh hi mark!
Noah? noah! Noah! Whaaaaaaa. I get that it's compellingly dreadful, but nobody with a hangover stands a chance.
What a wonderfully unconventional collection of films Dr. K. Especially having Noah at the top.
love it or hate it, surely we can all agree that Noah is not appropriate hangover viewing?
Thanks Mark.
He better be doing this year!

Saturday says SPEED to me too but for very different reasons
Holiday Ginger is in both Cinderella och Great Expectations
Don’t let the name and clips fool you, Slow West has a vein of black humour in it that really keeps it moving.
This is the most random "Christmas" list ever... Lol
Silent Night Deadly Night and Black Christmas (The original) better be on this list, Mark.
What about Tokyo Godfathers ?
Wow, Mark likes some bang average films
But Mark, where are they showing everyone's favourite Christmas classic Die Hard?
Just some guy 10PM, Sunday, Channel 4.
Die Hard, Scrooged, Trading Places, Gremlins. If at least one of these films (preferably the first, as it's the greatest Christmas film ever made) isn't watched during the Christmas period, the whole thing is a utter waste of time.
Come on, Noah?
