It is quite an interesting experience. Why Thoddoo? Is it a safe place? As far as I can see, there are only a few tiny places to stay, like Sunset Guest Beach (Tourist Beach).
I have no money for resort islands and wanted to see Maldives anyway. Thoddoo was something I could afford. There are many guest houses there relatively cheap and good standard. They also grow their own fruits that you can buy within the beach. I haven't experensed being unsafe as lone middle age woman traveller regarding people but there is very strong current in the ocean and is deep steeply. It would be better if you have a company, someone watching you as there are no lifeguards. You can be tempted to see corals och fishes, they are many but then discover that you can't make it to the shore.
