He’s actually acknowledging the market demographic for this vehicle with humor… cuz the majority of those who can afford this are not the off-roading personality types, they just love the status and the symbolism of a “go anywhere capable vehicle” . I know 4 people who work at a Land Rover dealership and they all say don't touch it. Breaks down easily and is expensive to maintain.

I off road my Range Rover sport. It had 2 lockers on it. And love get it deep in sand mud and snow. A few times i used the front bumper as a snow plow. It does better than my f-250.

I live in the mountains and i prefer smaller cars or hatchbacks or berlines, every single winter i ride up with my "city car" past range rovers, wolkswagen SUVs, ... stopped on the side of the road or stuck bang in the middle of it.
Back when i had my 5k€ juiced up clio 2 i even helped unstuck a few 50k + € cars because it had the juice and a pulley system welded on the frame.

I love off-road and cars, but the one thing which is inturuping me now is its not affordable for me now
The issue I have with the Defender is that it doesn’t look like an Offroader at all…
I’ll stick with the Bronco
No it looks like its made out of cast iron and the windows are bulletproof so it can defend the presidents daughter
Plus a Bronco is gonna be more reliable and have less maintenance issues

Unfortunately, if this example of British reliability doesn’t break down on the way to the trailhead, the low profile tire sidewall will pinch and tear giving you a flat, or the wheel will be bent, or both… but at least it looks cool in the Mall parking lot. 😂

It does make me sad because from the 60s to the 90s, the defender was a beast at off-roading and it was reliable car. That’s why I love the old ones so much. Now, it’s just a tin can that rich moms from Beverly Hills buy, just to take down to Earwhon. Also, don’t expect it last over 20k miles 😂

On sand and snow it’s probably decent, but off-roader is a stretch compare to an older jeep xj or something
He is not wrong when he says “leave it to the person who really does offroading” But i have to admit that Land Rover made a mistake when they ask him to make and ad for it. As someone who since childhood, has always had a land rover parked outside their house and goes to the dessert to do off-roading on weekends, this dude has now idea about that car, I have the exact same one and it’s car that you can take to the dessert but also you can drive it in the city because at the same time it’s a luxury car

I like the classic defender the new one isn't as sexy...the g wagon was basically the same but when they made them for the American market they kept the same look and that makes the g wagon a better choice if that's what you like
