agreed. they've put more effort into the truck than chevy did. Connecting the motors to a 4L70? Really? The two batteries in the bed of the truck look amateurish. Not much innovation.
Can i have a 64 4x4 chevy truck the hotrodded 327 runs the front wheels, the drive shaft is eliminated. In the bed is the ev engine mated to the rear end?
ok so i get the concept step away from gas and move on to E -- with an elestric kit from chevy- but lets talk numbers what really matters here, how does this quote - kit compare to ordering a crate v8 gas motor and tranny ? is it comparative yet,or is it to new still?
I much rather restore a collectable pickup like this if it was DIY than spend 80K on a decent new Etruck with the basic truck look. You can not replace the beauty of what was. Garrantee you if Chevy turned out a short and long wheel base truck to look exactly like late 60's c10 people would buy the heck out of them. Take the challenger for example. except for being wider etc it still is what it was in style and people bought a ton of them for it
IMO they need to do one of two things. 1. get the total package (battery, motor, electronics) into a size/shape that is a drop in replacement for either a small block or big block chevy (bell housing, motor mounts, pedal linkage to the old carburetor, etc) or 2. ship it as a kit with transaxle, battery that fits between frame rails (under the bed). What I'm seeing here is the "worst of both worlds" all of the problems, none of the benefits.
It needs to be a modular kit with an enter battery kit for 100 mile range that can be added upon with additional battery packs to extend range. In fact, all evs should be this way.
So….. very intriguing. I’m renovating a 1975 GMC Motorhome. Would love to explore the possibilities of creating a fully electric motorhome. I already import (from The Netherlands) a fully electric tractor. (KNEGT). Would love to make my motorhome electric. Let’s talk.
People not paying attention to while doing all these LS swaps, now they gone have to take them out and now do a electric swap, gas engines are not gone be on the road, and gas is gone be even harder to get and cost way more, so now what do we do smh...
Climate change is blamed on combustible engines(not nuclear meltdowns that actually happened) ideas come to fruition is truly wonderful to see, I once was laughed at when I mentioned it would be nice to see new technology of an old body style 60’s and 70’s aren’t what I wanted to see. I Was hoping early 1900-1930’s body style where mileage would be on the high side of the equation. I can imagine if that body was with the fabric of a sports car the mileage possibility would increase, I wonder if that is the solid steel of the original truck?
"...like the look..." lol Did they "Fire It Up?" "VROOOOOOOOOM...What? No Sound? Where's my manly sound?" Oh, the burning and screeching of all four tires at any speed will get your wood up w/o going deaf...but that's a Tesla.
Until you can drive 500 miles on a charge why would you buy one. Road trips would be out of the question. Americans love road trips. I would be ok with this in my 61 C 10 “if” I could go 8 -9 hrs on a charge. Parked somewhere for 5 hrs. To charge at 240 miles would be asinine! 300 plus miles from Phoenix to Vegas in 4.5 would no longer be obtainable. I can do it in my 61 stopping kingman.
I drive a 64 3/4 ton with two GE motors and a home welded battery pack. 500 miles in the mountains is well with in my range. Bed is completely clear and still hauls gravel and all the crap a farm truck carries. It's not hard to build a electric truck if it's planned out. This truck they showed was a bad conversion. I do like stackable motors, that's about it.
what happened to the hot rods that made the hot rod the sound the beautiful muscle cars the engines that run as long as you feed them gas this electric crap that can only range 250 to 300 mi sucks especially if you can't charge it what happens when the power goes out then you're screwed even more you're stuck we're all going to be screwed and I'm sorry but I will never be able to afford one of these vehicles nor do I want to I love my old schools and unless they're going to pay me to drive them with an electric motor and make sure that I have at least a thousand mile range or a "fill up" station that takes 10 minutes to get me the rest of my way then looks like my C10 isn't going to be electric that thing gets more miles on it then these electric cars can even imagine of going with no issues this world is going to be really hard on our children especially my daughter that is dreaming of her 69 Chevelle resto mod that we're building! one of the other biggest problems is all the people that are in the auto world nowadays trying to design what they think we want are kids that grew up playing video games all day and playing with computers never living a real life of going outside and understanding what real fun was or is
@@sHiFtY-5-oh when the power goes out so does the power at the gas stations that runs the electric fuel pumps.... few people on road trips drive 900-1000 miles without stopping for breaks so stopping every 300 miles for half an hour of charging is no big deal.

0-60 in 5 seconds? Seriously? My 1960 c10 does that with a 53 yr old 327 from an ss Camaro. And I have a full bed I can use as a truck.... And yes, my truck is custom, I show it and I use it.... This is just stupid.
Poorest concept I ever saw, Chevrolet should be ashamed of this entry. What a hack of a build. The body work, paint, electrics are cool. The design sucks. High slung motor and batteries creates a very high center of gravity. The non-unibody is very weak for all that torque.
The video stated that these kits were geared for the hotrod enthusiasts. They just want the boastful power and flashy show. However, there are other kits and custom shops that provide a more practical EV conversion for everyday drivers. Seems to me if a shop could deliver a custom conversion solution for $20k or less , they'd have customers seeking them out.
I've got a couple old Chevy/GMC trucks that could use some love, and would love to get my hands on one of these kits.
Me too.
Can wait to get this in my Radio flyer.
You’re absolutely gonna be the fastest kid on the block haha
Cant wait to buy this for my tacoma in 2035
It’s 2022. Gas is $2.10 per litre here in Canada. I would 100% throw one of these in my 63’ C10.
'62 c10 LWB here. Same. Would love a e-crate. There'd even be a bit of bed left....
I don't care if it's gas or what....I just love POWER.
May wanna be cautious with this one though, that much torque would rip apart a 4l60e.
I bet u do....
what's funny is this set up good for 230 miles will probably go further than it would originally on gas with original tank.
did they say anything on the price tag?
This needs to be offered now!
Looks like the long beds are back
Salvage to savage is doing a build like this, it looks theirs is wayyyy better than the Chevy engineers

@@WilliamPozo I thought they did it that way to show all the components. Most of that stuff would be hidden under the truck making it hard to see
EVs will just keep getting better! No turning back now! 💥👍
They have a LONG way to go. Especially for those of us who occasionally have to travel long distances.
Yep,... keep drinking that Koolaide...
Fuck evs going no where will be a dead concept in 22024
I think it's an awesome idea been toying with the idea of An conversion for my 08 Tahoe
They make the prototype look like people want it to look like, but when the production model comes out you get the chevy bolt.
I want to install this kit into a first gen Chevy van.
I would love to have a Chevy SSR with this kit.
I have a '66 nova and would love a sponsor to help me pull this off. Beautiful hot rod
under the hood it looked to be a vacuum booster on the brakes, is there a separate vacuum source?
It taking very long to come out. Buy I'll be waiting for it for my 1970 c10
I need that in my Holden Ute!

Depends on your local power plant.

Where can I get this electrical kit??? Help me please
I need this but i need to haul 1/2 ton of cargo in the bed while pulling a trailer. And i need a 500 mile range.
Until them FK electric
Lmao lady in orange leaning on the truck lol
Hopefully the bolt batteries don’t catch on fire.

There’s another C-10 being built for SEAM with two Tesla motors and Tesla battery bank for this years reveal
They can keep there adult sized power wheels, I'm good with my 73 mustang Mach 1 with her huge 351 Cleveland

If you grew out the beard, you could look like price from cod

I want to do it to my suzuki samurai
I like it
Nothing really changes , it only changes forms.

Only way to know is to make it👍
4x4 option plz
This E convertion looks expensive as heck i won't be able to buy it😔
