"I never said that"
-Akiba Rubinstein
You've a sharp eye and a quick wit. Keep up the good work : )
lol... I had just read the quote before seeing this comment 😂
When youve been watching Agad for so long or if you know some chess lore you know only one man had the personality to say something so cold as that quote
Fischer?
Yes it's Bobby Fischer.
"I like the moment when I crush a man's ego."
The quote is incorrect and attributed to the wrong player.
Excellent recap as usual. Why I enjoy your channel over all others is because after a player resigns, you don't stop there. With the remaining pieces, you show the checkmate sequence. I was so wanting to know how Magnus could win the game with only his king and 2 pawns. To my knowledge you are the only one who does this.
It is impressive how Magnus slowly but surely grinds this kind of end games!
Magnus is like an alligator who grabs his prey and drags them underwater until they're dead.
He's probably the best end game player alive.
@tamaslengyel1497 He's definitely the best end game player alive, probably the best end game player dead or alive
@@tamaslengyel1497 He's in the conversation as the best endgame player ever. He might well be.
@@princeosars3298 he's only the best player alive, dont think he'd be very good if he was dead, in fact i reckon he'd be pretty bad
"He's pretty good at this end-game stuff". Said with a straight face. Great commentary, as always. Thanks!
Indeed rumor has that Magnus training in endgame is the stuff of legend.
The rumor is that as soon as his father established that Magnus not only had uncommon aptitude for the game but his son was indeed serious about sacrificing towards the holy grail of chess, he packed the car and took his son to Gamvik, leaving his mother crying alone at the kitchen table (for she knew she might never see her son again)
Once there, Magnus underwent endgame training by having to memorize appropriately presented endgame puzzles and solving them.
This was done by showing him the position for 2 seconds and then dropping him tied upside down from the pier of Gamvik village into the cold water.
Magnus then had to hold his breath and solve the puzzle. Once he had solved it, he tugged a rope, to get back up.
If he was wrong, his father dropped him back in until he stopped moving and then pulled him up and revived him using a defibrillator.
Then one day a strange thing happened. The fish in the water started helping Magnus out. It is not clear how this was done or how his father figured it out, but when he did he changed the venue by tying Magnus to a tree and releasing an angered reindeer straight at him. However Magnus made friends with the reindeer as well, and so then his father had to take drastic measures to ensure his son would be able to win without any help whatsoever, so he just defibrilated him to death anyway and revived him. If coming back to life did not help Magnus solve the puzzle, he was defibrillated to death and revived again until he did.
It was not torture. Magnus could have said I quit anytime, and it all would be over.
Another unconfirmed rumor, is that following the Magnus Nieman controversy, Hans was told part of this story. He hasn't swam in water since and is right terrified of bathtubs too.
😂😂😂bro you are a legend,on of the best stories
Bro what
Agad is the real Mr. Speed
And I watched it with 2x lol
This is one of the most beautiful end games of all times... this is music by Magnus on the board....
Thanks for the upload. New to chess, still a learning beginner and have been enjoying the Norway chess tournament on TH-cam. I appreciate your in-depth breakdown of the match and quick upload👍🏻 If you should post a video helping viewers understand how the tournament works I would certainly watch, thanks
I've begun to get excited for Praggnanandhaa games now whenever I see him in the title :)
Good Battle by Pragg that would’ve been so monumental had he won but at 18 years old he can take solace in the fact he’s playing very strongly and competitively vs the Great Magnus
Magnus` elo is wrong.
Probebly one bear to mush! 😅
The ELO speaks for itself
Official rating is unchanged. Only the live ratings have changed. Agadmator uses official ratings. Cheers.
@@LukeLongboneOfficial Yeah, but Magnus shouldn't be at 2747
@@LukeLongboneOfficialOfficial also Magnus is above 2800 rt
Pragg got something similar to a bad Catalan in middle game. Magnus traded down into a good IQP with a good knight but still holdable to draw. Pragg gave Magnus too much space after losing the queen’s pawn which made the draw more difficult to find.
The irony of giving up a pawn when you didn't have to - Pragg gave up the pawn because he didn't want to spend time thinking other lines. But giving up a pawn unnecessarily means entering an inferior endgame where you have to spend more time finding ONLY MOVES to save the game.
Dude he was able to hold magnus giving up a pawn..
This was a great explanation of the game simple, to the point, good stuff
Why on earth would you give Magnus a free pawn in an end game? Madness!
Hahahaha I was just wondering. I think it was a blunder.
Prag was around 5 sec during this time so i think its time pressure that led to that
Madness ❌
Magnuss ✔️
"If There's a Way, He Will Find It! " Seems like Indonesian Quote .. love this quote
It was the thumbnail for me🤣😂😂
😂😂
Isn't the quote above by Fischer?
the original quote was "When you break his ego, this is where its at" and it was by fischer
The previous video included a quote by Rubinstein. Agad changed the quote but forgot the author.

The choice of photos is HILARIOUS.
Magnus smiling casually, whilst Praggnanandhaa is giving a death stare! 😂
I thought that Magnus is scored above 2800 not 2747 🤔😊
2747 is Pragg's rating.
Yes is 2847
Isn’t that a FISCHER quote?? 😮
Apparently they are the same person
Yes, indeed. Not from Rubinstein, who was much more civilized.
What? Start making sense..
#suggestion for a video! A 2374 IM lost in just 6 moves in the French team championship! The game was Sochacki vs Vitoux - this might be some sort of record!
The camera nearly captured the mysterious goings on during that common "sorry about that" move in the beginning.
0:17 agadmator stuttering is lovely
Bro what are you always reaching down for 😳
He forgets to turn down the volume on his speakers. So he apologizes and reaches down to turn the volume knob.
sorry about that
His gun😂
@@aligwejoseph2642😂😂😂
Why not turn down the volume before the recording starts?
Agadmator never fails to upload a recap instantly after the match
No
The best! And the best comments because his subscribers are more intelligent than others. 😃
Agadmator's recap is best enjoyed with an Anderson nightcap.
Wow ,now we even have clocked moves. Awesome one man, the best channel in YT
What I don’t understand is how this is not the most popular chess channel on TH-cam…
Agad, could you revisit some of the famous games from the Kasparov -Karpov World Championship matches played in the 1980s?
Magnus rating is shown wrong in the video
Google says his rating is 2830 as of April 2024 maybe it has increased since than
the new camera makes the "sorry about that" moment more interesting!
Magnus just played some good solid chess.
The pause the video moment was clever at 11:15
I saw that but I wouldn't have in Armageddon -
of course Magnus did.
Magnus is what you get when you combine tactical calculations of Kasparov or Fischer and the maneuvering of Karpov.Honestly you can only hope he makes a calculation mistake. He is also most probably the goat in chess, rivaled only by Morphy and the 3 i mentioned above
Excellent game by both players. Pragg hasn't reached his peak yet, so watching him in 3-5 years from today would be really exciting.
Who knows. You have a whole bunch of chess prodigies coming up.
Fischer said that quote to David Frost in a TV interview in the late 60's or early 70's.
Nice game more interesting the analysis, thanks ❤.
#suggestion Ju Wenjun vs Pia Cramling from this round of Norway Chess, very sharp game where a double piece sacrifice line was possible
Would be great if you add the engine evaluation bar to the UI
Fantastic! Magnus is the GOAT
Hi agadmator. "I LIKE The Moment when I BREAK a Man's EGO"- Bobby Fischer is this quote from Fischer or Rubinstein ?
GM level endgame, amazing
watching you about yearsssss ago and still dont know wat u apologize for in the beginning haha hugs from Brazil
There's a lack in quality as the quote and the elo are wrong(credits to others in the comments). We prefer quality over quantity. Take your time, Antonio ❤
Rubenstein? Silly me grew up thinking it was Fischer
Please can someone explain, what the "sorry for that" in the beginning is? 😂😂😂. Almost everyday i hear this. Love u guys.
He does it cuz he's cool.
I think he turn of he's speakers, to avoid echo, or something of the sort.
I thought Agad was going to say "It is now as of Move 1 that we have a new game." Which would not be wrong.
I was scared and shocked when I heard, 'and it is already as of move one ... ' 😂😂
Thumbnail is very good❤.
Beautiful end game ❤
That was fast
And from move one we have a completely new game..
That's a Fischer quote from one of his famous interviews lmao
11:21 I was going for Ke8!
Magnus welcoming Praggnanandhaa to the top 10
I need to see whats under that desk
5:28 why he did not take the night with f7 pawn
Bravo !
I think Pragg learned a lot from that endgame.
Check out the beat while the DJ revolves it.
The disrespect to Fischer in the quote above the board...
The Gods are found in
THE END GAME.👁️
end game learning lesson for 18 year old pragg....imagine a 33 years old praggnanandhaa..thats scary.
Not exchanging queens was the prime reason.
The end game goat
Goat
5:21 why not capture knight with the pawn?
I can’t help but notice that Magnus’ dropped nearly 100 points. 😂
What's up with this video? Magnus' elo is wrong. Quote above the board belongs to Fischer.
Testing who's paying attention
@@agadmator haha okay.
God of chess endgames
I wonder if Pragg has ever visited Prague, the Czech capital?
Love how Magnus and Pragg share ELO, lol
What a game,Magnus is Capablanca
What is pragg plays bishop f7 again?
Blood from a stone, again.
End game magnus game lool like Mikhail tal
Very nice game
I was not aware Prag and Magnus were both 2747 rated...oops...
5:33 - why not capture the knight with f7 pawn?
Because W queen will take B queen
Then white rook will take queen back and 7th file rook is hanging
Is that a mistype or did Magnus drop 100elo?
Hell of a fight though
Magnus didnt even to need to beat prag.. He was almost losing on time..
Really,I am feeling bad for pragg that magnus didn't gave him free win, like he gave him in last classical match
what is that rating?
The FIDE rapid rating of both players is wrong. The author of the quote is incorrect as well. Don't put this information out if you don't change or check it.
Where's Medo?
Amazing end game.. However, Magnus rating is wrong on this video..
Why the pawn on F7 does not take the knight on E6 ?
Magnus is at 2747? That can’t be right
Is there a lore reason why Agad reaches under his desk? I always think he’s scratching an itch or something.
He reducing the volume of his speaker
Are they both rated 2747?
"He's pretty good at this endgame stuff" ROFL
i hate to say it agad but this new camera kinda sucks because of how it tracks you, just fix it in one place
why is magnus rated 2747?
King Magnus!
5:24
I don't understand why black can't just take the rook here and then the knight. White can't capture the queen because black captures the other rook and it's checkmate. And even if it weren't, the black queen is defended.
What...? Wait the rook?
@@sahiljoshi4125 I obviously meant to say, "take"
Well if black first takes rook.. Queen takes pawn is checkmate (supported by knight)
Queen takes g7 pawn is mate in one of black takes rook first
@@sahiljoshi4125 Ah, thanks
Minor mistake. Major victory
He just lost in armageddon due to very low time... He drew in classical...
This Magnus guy is pretty good, huh!?
Why does Pragg look like a villain from Bollywood in your thumbnail??😂
In the Endgame God's have placed Carlsen💥❤️
NASA has confirmed that all pragg fans who were flying high before the game have landed safely
What's wrong he lost and won vs mag? Defeated ding, and. World no 2 in the same tournament. If that doesn't justify hype idk what does. 😆
He is good whether you like that fact or not.
@@percentbigfootBro just check his profile and the videos. He is from Pakistan , so what do you expect? Probably a jealous man whose country can't produce a GM till now.

@@rahulmishra9165 Why do Indians have to either:
A: Use nationalism to support an Indian person so hard until their hands and knees break just because they're from India.
B: Accuse other people, especially Pakistanis, of being nationalist for criticizing anyone Indian.
