Saw Goddo on stage ROCKPILE Toronto May 12.11 original line up 3 pc. They rocked like the glory days, All the tunes flawless. these guy are Canadian Rock Royalty!
Was able to see this great Canadian band around 1978 with Max Webster and Winnipeg legends Les Pucks. What a trio of acts. What I would give for footage of that evening.
Good God! Greg Godovitz is going to be working in the Oil Sands? Prison in Saskatchewan? Rehab in Vancouver? just kidding! Too bad, I'll miss the show, unavoidable out of town business. Hope someone tapes/records/films/ that historical show. Thanks for the great job bringing back memories through these posts!!!!
Doug if you're out there- know that you made me and others happy listening to your playing, plus you looked bitchin' cool with long hair flying on the heavy cymbal shots! Erik Y.
They certainly were tight, weren't they? Saw them here at Heaven, and a million other venues. Thought they sounded best at the "Coronet" in Kitchener, great acoustics, best sight-lines,house P.A. in Ontario. It and this line-up, sadly missed.
It was a great show but Goddo played only a short set half way through the night. It was cool to see Gino back with the band for one last time. There were lots of special guests including Ed Pilling from Fludd.
You get one more chance to see the original Goddo. The good riddance party for Greg before he goes west is at Healeys next Thursday. Greg Gino and Doug will be performing. I'll be there.. for sure.
Saw them too many times usually with Teen Head at Entex in Missisauga. Goddo always brought the ceiling down. Those were really fun times ! Thanks for posting this !
Sounds like Doug Inglis playing.... Doug had a great and unique style. Neat stuff on the ride bell, plus actually played with DYNAMICS in a time when every moron soundman or producer wanted you to play everything at the same volume all the time.
Love this song. Goddo needs to works on the quality of their stage 'props', check out 5:43. The boys seem real interested in the drunken, 240 lb. , Pat Benatar wannabe trying to talk to Greg while he belts it out...security.....security!!
This brings a lot of memories!
Thanks Gino. You'll never be forgotten.
Awesome band!
I used to stand behind the PA to listen to Dougie's snare. As close as possible. Best in the world. ❤
Cool song!
Awesome guitarist.
Great post! So many fond memories from my youth! No party was complete without Goddo!
