Good day Steve, I like your very good analyst about stainless steel I do agree with you for sure !!! Yes the Coleman toaster is not working very well unless you have a very strong one !!! It's funny when you said it was stainless steel I thought "hmmmm .... it doesn't look stainless to me." 🤔😂 It works though but I don't think it will last long 👍 I think we'll all be camping in our gardens this summer to feel like we've had a holiday 👍😂
We're not allowed leave our homes except for food or medication and have to exercise within 2k of our homes only. Garda checkpoints on all major roads to make sure people comply. If you refuse to comply and return home if caught, you will be arrested.
@@TheCowgirlNiamh Wow not here we can do as we like. No official police enforced lockdowns anywhere in the US or Canada as far as I know. Ok if i'm arrested I will call you to bail me out :)
Most people are complying but a few arseholes have been arrested. We don’t want to be locked in all summer so it’s better to do it now and hopefully be rid of it sooner! 👍 I have family in BC, I’ll send help if you need it! 🤣🤣🤣
Is the manufacturing plant permanently closed do to this pandemic thing going on or is it actually permanently closed. For that thing to cook toast as well as it did on that one side and 30 seconds I said works pretty good
Perfect for when you want toast but only have 30 seconds to make it! I'm doubting the stainlessness of it, but I like it too. I like the simplicity of it and just the fact that it works. I'm watching this at 3:00am and now I want toast.
Ha Steve, That's good for two more videos. The first one down. Now build one from 1/4 inch stainless plate welded up once that one rusts out. That's two. Then another testing it. It won't rust out for sure. You could even rivet it together. Toast one one you've made will taste the best. Cheers
I imagine its all possible but in reality I have been using this a lot over all this time and like it a lot so for me I think this is my preference. Cheers
Lot's of magnetic stainless out there. The ones that are non-magnetic are mostly in the 300 alloy range (304. 316 and such). The 400s like 420, 430, 440C are pretty much all magnetic.
Yes sir , I have been using camp toasters for 50 years and then I see this , wow I'll never use that tpee style again since I dont like waiting forever to make toast :)
Awesome! Something useful for $15? I’m in! Some of these ‘industrial’ you find in work places take 7 or 8 minutes to make toast, using up much of your break. Do you think they will let me bring in a gas burner to work Steve. 😂
More like tinplate, it's not stainless! It rusts like crazy almost instantly. Still works! Might work better if it's rusty, I don't know. I would LIKE a stainless one! I think it could be made of several pieces spot-welded together, since stainless is harder to work. Anyway, this works great if you pay attention, and turn the bread (Bagels, muffins) a few times. I use little bamboo skewers from the Asian mkt to turn things.
I meant rotate the bread, so side A will be rotated a few times then turn it over and do the same. Maybe turn 90 degrees each time, every minute or so. Works GREAT on bagels!
Steve the # on the bar code will tell you were it was made. After the first single # the next 2 or 3 # that the country of origin, if it start whit 690 to 695 made in china.
Steve you bought yourself a wing wang toaster. AkA Chines counterfeit junk. Keep it well cleaned and well oiled with Pam or something similar or it will rust out on you. One more thing I am from right next to Rhode Island. They company that made those went out of business years ago. They made them with stainless steel. They also made mess kits for camping. A lot of the scouts used them in my area. Their is a company in India that makes similar products out of stainless steel. I own their stainless steel tin cup. You can find their 12 oz one on my patriot supply website. I think they carry their toasters as well. These are not the Wing Wang counterfeit ones.
I was about the buy the Coughlan's four slice toaster but then read that they rust up real easy so I started looking around. How does this one do in terms of rust?
Well I was very suspicious but I have been using it at my camp for many months and not a spot of rust. The wire ones you set up rust real fast and dont make decent toast like this one does. I can put hot dog buns , bagels or a nice chunk of french stick on it where the other styles just fail. I give it 👍👍
@@SteveRobReviews Appreciate the prompt reply! I've been making toast on a cast iron pan over a Coleman dual fuel stove. Do you think its wise to make toast over essentially a gasoline stove? I also have the same butane single burner as well.
Well I did it for 30 years out in the bush every fall on a coleman naphtha gas stove but I do prefer propane or butane much better now because the flame adjusts much lower. On this toaster I have to turn it way down or it cooks too fast.
