Alhamdulillah! 🧡 Excellent Reminder Khutbah!! جزاك الله خير يا استاذ Some of us need this reminder around the holidays, especially Thanksgiving, all of our family members are not Muslim and they try to pull us in every year around this time, Don't do it people, fear الله. explain it to your family members that we don't celebrate these holidays. We have our own. May الله help us all by HIS mercy🤲 اللهم امين
Assalaamu Alaikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuhu. As long as the shoes had nothing impure on them, at the time of Rasulullah (saw), the Muslims would pray in their shoes (this was before carpets) on an earthen surface. Once carpets became the standard inside the Masajid, shoes were removed to keep them clean and free from damage. However, to continue the practice of the Sunnah, khuffain (or leather socks) can be worn inside when praying, or Muslims can take the opportunity to pray in shoes when outdoors in parks or at the beach. As for "thanksgiving," some may get the family together because everyone is off work-- so the intent is not necessarily about celebrating a non-Islamic holiday, but the practicality of the situation. This was my thinking at one time. For the last few years, however, i've tried to fast (fisabilAllah) on that day, choosing to distinguish myself from Christians and those who (essentially) practice gluttony on that day. However, it's quite challenging when all of one's family is not Muslim, and they're getting together to share a meal. Thankfully, Allah (swt) in His infinite Mercy judges us by our intentions.
Blacl people should NOT Celebrate Hellsday/Thanksgiving period. How can you celebrate Genocide of the Natives to this land? Good lecture Wa Alaikum Salaam wa Rahmahtuillahi wa Barakhatuhu
Alhamdulillah!!! No disrespect. That also goes for Muslims migrating to the US. How is change going to occur if we continue to participate and fall in line because "everyone else is doing it"? Unless we're going to the dinner to bring the dawah we should allow our refraining (holding back from attendance) to do the teaching. At best, teach about the foundation of oppression of this day and how the same colonialism has slaughtered MANY nations around the world, previously and presently-(Palestine and other countries in Africa, Haiti, Uyghr, etc....). This day of celebration just accentuates the celebration of colonialism whether one acknowledges it or not; and is further away from the teachings of Islam (if attending the family dinner simply to get a fat belly). May Allah Most Merciful protect our heart's desires in following Allah's Sunnah and the sunnah of prophet Muhammad sallahu alaihi was salaam, ameen!!!
Barakahllahu feek May almighty Allah blessing and protect you yarrabih
May ALLAH preserve you Sheik and may you continue giving up the HAQQ!
