They snubbed Mr Rogers!! WTF!
I know, right?! I don't get it, at all! I really don't!
The Favourite was excellent. I loved Beale Street too. Mary Queen of Scots was good. Green Book was great. Spider-verse deserves the Oscar for best animated picture.
I'm glad A Star Is Born got 8 nominations including Best Picture.
Was shocked Black Panther got a nod including Best Picture. Glad Bohemian Rhapsody got 5 nominations including Best Picture

The Favourite is excellent & I'm glad The Academy's finally giving Yorgos the recognition he deserves.
They snubbed Beale Street for best picture! I like that BlackkKlansman got nominated but what about Beale Street.
At least Regina King is nominated. If she wasn't, I'd be furious!

I like a lot of these nominations, particularly ones for films like BlacKkKlansman, Roma, The Favourite and A Star Is Born. Bohemian Rhapsody and Vice were good but not great films, but I'm at least happy they got nominated for their actors and in the case of Bohemian Rhapsody its sound and Vice its makeup. I'm also happy for Willem Dafoe in At Eternity's Gate. I didn't think he'd get nominated, but I loved that movie and his performance so much, so I'm glad he's on here! As for snubs, obviously I agree with everyone about Won't You Be My Neighbor? and Bradley Cooper for Best Director, but I also have Ethan Hawke for Best Actor in First Reformed, Emily Blunt for Best Actress in Mary Poppins Returns, Eighth Grade for Best Original Screenplay, Timothee Chalamet for Best Supporting Actor in Beautiful Boy and Suspiria for Best Makeup & Hairstyling, to name a few.
Honestly, the only surprise that stuck out to me is Black Panther nominated for Best Picture.
I didn't really expect that.
As far as snubs that bothers me, where the fuck is Michael B. Jordan for Best Supporting Actor and Won't You Be My Neighbor for Best Documentary Feature.
As far as everything else, I expected those. Why would the Oscars ever be fair? Honestly.
I will admit, this year's Oscars event will definitely be one of the most weirdly intriguing things ever.
How the fuck wasn’t Toni Colette nominated?
Roma is one of the best sound works ever, the confusion is the result of Netflix refusing to change the TV release date and not letting people see it in theaters.

So bummed that Wont You Be My Neighbour got snubbed. I watched it on a flight from Australia to Canada, loved it.

Stephan James from Beale Street or John David Washington from BlackkKlansman did not get nominated for lead actor. That feels racist to me.
There's at least one person of color nominated in all 4 acting categories, so this isn't a case of Oscars So White.

I agree wholeheartedly with you about Toni Collette and Hereditary. I pretty much said the same thing throughout my reaction video. She was snubbed big time. Nice reaction! Check mine out as well.
Man I will never forgive the academy for snubbing Toni Collette, I hope Midsommar gets best cinematography next year and I hope parasite gets beat picture and I am hoping joker will get some noms!

Regina King should win Best Supporting Actress, not Amy Adams (even though I'm a big fan of hers).
I'd love to see Lady Gaga win Best Actress, but I think Glenn Close has it in the bag. She's on her 7th nomination and she's never won before, so some may feel she's overdue for a win at last.

I'm actually surprised that If Beale Street Could Talk wasn't nominated for best picture and best directors, although I'm happy for Regina King getting a nominated. But I threw a Kylo Ren style tantrum when Toni Collette wasn't nominated.
I'm not surprised she wasn't nominated because the only precursor nomination she got was at Critics Choice. If she gotten at least a SAG nomination, her Oscar chances might have been better.
Ready Player One deserved Sound Editing, but not Mixing

Danilo Junio I totally agree with you. Timothee Chalamet first before Michael B. Jordan. Chalamet deserves a supporting actor noms. He is the frontrunner on the supporting actor category alongside with Mahershala Ali!

I have a question, why did you wanted so much Black Panther for best picture? Is just an ok movie, is not even the best Marvel movie of the year. The only great things in that movie are Michael b Jordan, the visual effects (kinda) and that's it. The script is average, the rest of the performances are bland as hell and is soooo predictable.
The fact that Black Panther and Bohemian Rhapsody are nominated for best picture instead of First Man and If Beale Street Could Talk is just a joke.

And yes, The Favourite is worthy of being nominated for best picture, miles better than Black Panther.
I agree in nearly any way. First Man and the Favourite are my favourite movies of the year. I actually think that Black Panther is one maybe even the best Marvel movie but it's definetly not THAT great for best picture. The screenplay is smart though. It has some clever messages there too.
I disagree completely that Black Panther is average. I felt that Black Panther did something different for the superhero genre. Not just of it's significance. Honestly when it comes to First Man I found it to be overrated. I also disagree with it being predictable. Didn't see a single thing coming.

I agree with you that Black Panther wasn’t worthy of a nomination but I’m sorry, I couldn’t even finish First Man. Ryan Gosling gave such a bland performance and the writing wasn’t great either. It just made the movie feel pretty dull and that’s why I didn’t watch it till the end. Sound Editing and Mixing is great as well as Cinematography but not Best Picture worthy.

Disney owns abc, and abc will broadcast the Oscars. Makes sense, hence Black Panther nominated (the worst Marvel movie of the year).
Even if ABC didn't broadcast the Oscars, I'm sure Black Panther would have still been nominated.

However, A Star Is Born is a huge success in its own right, and it deserved every cent it made at the box office. So yes, it is just as much of a financial success as Aquaman is. You say you cover the film industry but I Googled you, and yeah, you're a troll. You don't show up ANYWHERE!! If you actually worked for a legitimate site like The Hollywood Reporter, Variety or Deadline, you wouldn't be making these comments.
