After watching your inspirational how to video, i now feel confident in having a go at changing the V belt on my sit on mower this afternoon. It looks almost exactly the same.
You boys playing with your tonka toys , never a dull moment keep ‘em coming love following your journey on and about your farms tiny looks like an aircraft carrier of the dozer world
Good work making your jig. I made up something similar for attaching a truck gearbox to a trolley jack. I mounted a plate to pto pump side hole and then welded a strut off it with a neat pin fit into swivel hole on my jack. Gearbox could rotate slightly for aligning it but couldn't fall over. Only got one set of fingers. In fact when I had truck up on axle stands and was taking out gearbox an earthquake struck and fell off axle stands and rolled across yard. I had pto plate off but didn't have jack in place. Good old Christchurch NZ. We had hundreds of nasty quakes for about three years after big one of 2010. Actually over 10000 after shocks in the next ten years but most were just a quick bang, shake and rumble.
Nice engineering on that lift bracket good thinking mind you have....nice Cat put trans on rear knowing would need worked on eventually and removed. Kudos for doing this work practically in the field you could say saving you guys many many dollars cant imagine what Cat dealer would charge. Good luck getting her back together and reinstalled Hey big work on Cats big $$$$.
Just an FYI for next time, even though the bevel gear to trans adapter is dowled to the bevel gear it must be clocked in with the dowles out and o ring off so the input gear is in the centre of the trans mounting bore, once clocked in check the dowle holes lign up if they don't you can machine them out oversize and put oversize dowles in. If they do fit the o ring, bolt it down loose, clock it in and tighten the bolts then drive the dowles in, put a 3/8" bolt and washer in the dowels so you don't hammer the threads in. Unfortunetly the o rings won't last as long as the trans when the machine is not abused. You won't get dirt in the engine through those inlet elbows as they are after the aftercooler so the air is blowing out but you can fill the engine with water if washing the engine down or parked out in the weather. Good job on the trans lift bracket, just don't let WH&S catch you use it, all lifting equipment in Australia must be tested to 2.5 x the weight being lifted and marked with a WLL as per Australian standards. 👍

I worked for a farmer back in the 80's, he was growing grain and also clearing Mallee scrub. After the huge dozer went through we'd be picking up the mallee roots and piling them up on a huge mountain of Mallee roots. I loved working there, everything about it was fantastic, the life style was the best I've ever experienced in my 60 years so far. The work though was real hard and thats coming from me who was a bricklayer before going over there. But it was worth it, I still curse the day I left I went back to the city, the worst decision of my entire life, even the old cocky said "are you sure you want to go back" but young men make dumb decisions when it comes to pretty women
Absolutely enjoy all your videos especially the dozer content your channel has really sparked a interest in Earth moving machinery for me Watching from New Zealand
love how you said farmers way of getting things out. used to go off at dad for twitching things up he would say boy half of australia is held together with number 9 fencing wire. love the content keep it up. still think you should go green though haha.
I'm still enjoying your video's ... I have a smile as I am watching reminiscing about farm life in the 60's and how you guys manage working on the D11's when I have never even seen a D11 ... please thank Phil for push the GoPro button ... As an after thought ... with the type of work you do would it be feasible to leave the belly pans of.
Hi Julian, yep Phil did a good job👍 the belly plates save a lot of dirt and mud from going too far up👍 also help stop grass seeds being sucked into radiator
I am just guessing to how much it weighs because if you said, I don't quite catch everything said.... a full size pickup would be my guess. I as well and many years ago, helped work in the shops in the southeast alaska. We would log till we couldn't and then head for the shop where we enjoyed the heat from a barrel stove and fixed stuff. Some of the equipment is quite large
Thanks for the video Matt. Still no luck with the wheel bearing on the prickle chain just asking as it is still up at the work shop. Hope all is going well with the new family member.👍
D10 is about 65 ton ,D11 is approximately 105 tons, I recall the first time I came across a D10, it was amazing, Wimpey mining had 2 on a coal project in s wales in the UK. In 2004 I visited the minexpo show in Vegas, Cat had a D11 on display in cezars Palace, they are truly massive .
You probably already know, one way or the other, by now, but my experience is (none on heavy equipment) that sealing one area of a high hour system up tight can over stress other areas further down stream. Do you ever worry about this?
I don't think that's the case mate, I just think if you're sealing up something because the seals are letting go chances are other seals the same age will start letting go too, it's all in your head haha
Love that this is an Aussie operation to match the American channels in size, scale and ingenuity. Do you guys have a Merc store, I want to get one of your stickers, they look awesome. Do you guys employ full time diesel mechanics? Thanks
Hi. Matt just one Question how do you run the farm do you have a share or is. Dad still the Boss that D 11 is awesome bigger then my. Truck I wish you luck pulling the box out hard yakka have a great. Day God. Bless happy Days 🚜🚜👍💪🦘🦘🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🍺👍. Cheers
Funny how i just watched one of those indian mechanic youtube channels rebuild a transmission like this. After seeing that i wouldn't want to take apart the clutch packs if it was working as it was.
It's not every day we get to see open trans surgery on one of the Tiny machines. Question in my mind - what in the world were you doing with the large orange ramp ( @3:06 ) in the background? It looks like it would deliver the user (🏍 a motorcycle rider?) to an awful high height.
After watching your inspirational how to video, i now feel confident in having a go at changing the V belt on my sit on mower this afternoon. It looks almost exactly the same.
Hahaha.
LOL. Often bigger equipment is easier to repair than small equipment.
How did you get on?
@@timfagan816 I didn't want to risk it, so I got the missus to watch the video and she fixed it.
@@General_Confusion 🤣🤣🤣

Pretty simple box by the look of things, just massive clutch packs cheers
Gday Matt congratulations to you and Mrs Matt on the new arrival . Cheers to you and all Aussie Pete
You guys need medals for managing to work on Tiny outside in the Yard 🥇🥇🥇
Having the machinery and ability to make the lifting jig makes all the difference 👍🏻🏴

Hi guys, that was very interesting watching a transmission come out and you're doing the seals. Well done 👍😊👋👋👋👋
Awsome to see a well organized farm and family .

Farm the devil’s lettuce?
Number 8 fencing wire. Do John Deere build a dozer that big?
Great to see
Nice jig build for pulling the tanny out.

Can’t beat the yellow iron Matt.
Thank goodness you said the welds need filling in, for a min there I thought you were going to leave it tacked 😂😂
Great vídeo
You can def tell this family and crew know what their doing.
Thanks again Matt and Pete.
For such huge machines they don't leave a lot of room to get your hands in and work

About 2 ton👍
@@thejacksonbrothers I knew it was a quite a bit.. pretty close on a pickup truck in weight... surprisingly too close a guess/LOL

great video
Hi Jackson, I would open and check the clutch plates wear.... Etc. Check the condition of the transmission oil. 👍🇿🇦
fascinating stuff.
Ok who uses the ramp Peter? Hope it’s not Camera shy Brad then we never will see. Great video Matt
nice vid

Great video Matt, as with all of them. One thing though........its 4" x 2", not 2 x 4. 😁😃🤣
So who hits the jump ? And yeah video of said person hitting said jump would be cool 😎
The boys do..Matt has said when he gets time to build a big down ramp outta dirt he'll do some jumps and film it
Love that this is an Aussie operation to match the American channels in size, scale and ingenuity. Do you guys have a Merc store, I want to get one of your stickers, they look awesome. Do you guys employ full time diesel mechanics? Thanks
Hi Gordon, we are working on merchandise so we will see what happens there👍 we get a diesel mechanic in sometimes but don’t employ one full time
Lets see a video of Matt hitting the FMX ramp...
That ripper is a ripper.
I noticed the big dirt bike jump , who's the evil knevel in the family ? Lol
What’s with the freestyle MX ramp? Let’s see some vids on that!

Poor Tiny🤣🙏
CAT high track rear transmission final drive easy to remove compared to other old designs.
What’s with the big dirt bike ramp, Evel Knievel hiding out there?
Not the jump 😔🤣
Got into sewing 😂😂😂😂
This is intense stuff
I understand d11s are huge but one thing that’s always bothered me is dozers don’t get as large as excavators or loaders. I want to know why that is
It's not every day we get to see open trans surgery on one of the Tiny machines.
Question in my mind - what in the world were you doing with the large orange ramp ( @3:06 ) in the background? It looks like it would deliver the user (🏍 a motorcycle rider?) to an awful high height.
How many hours are on the dozers?
Just found your channel, can I just ask at this stage, wear about are you in Australia.
Hi mate, we are in northern NSW👍
What is that curved ramp used for ?
I was thinking dirt bikes perhaps?
Big tractor = Big bills
What is the name of the new tool? My vote is for the Tranny Yanker 9000-D11
WHY IS THERE A FREESTYLE MOTOCROSS RAMP IN THE BACKGROUND??? WHO DOES THAT BELONG TO?
Every once in a while you just have to turn on the money spigot and throw some parts and hours at the old equipment. Nature of the beast, I’m afraid.
I bet big $$$
Maybe next time
Sounded like a 3508
Oh it was my bad
Why do you need 2 d11s?
One of their videos explains exactly why.
I want to see someone hit the motorbike jump that is parked by the d11
Are you sure the transmission is gone? It might be the fluid. Check the fluids.❤😮😮😮😮
