I'm running Vulkan on my Laptop and PC; I'm using an i9 Gen 14 with RTX4080, 64GB DDR5 RAM, Samsung Evo 990 NVME M.2, and AMD 5800X3D with RTX4080 Super, 64GB DDR4 RAM, Samsung Evo 980 NVME M.2 on my Laptop and PC, respectively. Both perform better with Vulkan (fewer crashes). I tested both DirectX11 & Vulkan; I didn't notice any fps performance difference between DirectX11 & Vulkan at the moment; maybe they haven't optimized the game for multithreading yet. I advise you to set up PhysX to GPU rather than CPU and select the GPU for some other settings.
@@MrPersonatus What are you talking about? Gsync gives you the performance of vsync off but every frame is synchronized so there's no tearing. The GPU and monitor coordinate the "frame rate" for each individual frame.
I have an i5 13600k, 3070, and 32gm ddr5 6000mhz. Oc cpu and Gpu, and I have great performance using dx11 everything maxed out except photo clouds. Same as you, since the last few patches vulkan is simply too stuttery and performance overall is way worse. Seems lika a general thing for nvidia users, amd people should use vulkan seems like. Also, in nvidia panel, for the gpu prefer max performance is a bad choice. It forces the gpu to draw all power it can, overheat it for no reason, while at the same time it will run tje same clocks. Try it, you are just raising temps in the case affecting cpu temps and spending more on electricity. Just a friendly advice. Also, best thing would be to increas shader size file to min 10gb, better to higher than that.
Increasing to Max Performance increases power and GPU performance, not just "heat". What you wrote is not quite true. What you should do is set Default GPU Performance to Normal and instead set Custom Program Settings for StarCitizen.exe to Maximum Performance. This way, when you aren't playing the game, your PC or laptop will send much less power to the GPU as you are just doing normal things like web browsing or watching Netflix, etc. A lot of people don't understand how these options work.
@MasterTrolliusTV from all the testing done by multiple people online, this setting simply forces the gpu to draw all the power it can all the time, regardless if it needs it or no. The clocks remain the same, as gpus are smart enough to draw the power they need when they need it to achieve the usable clocks available to them based on demand/power draw/temps. If you are in menues, or there is a cpu bottleneck for example and the gpu is waiting for it to process further, instead of using 80% of total power as that is all it needs, it will draw 100% power with no effect other than heat and bigger bill. Again, maybe something changed recently, but last time I did the tests as well results concluded the above. Let us know if this changed, perhaps with a video showcasing the gain in clocks and fps!

I noticed that star citizen Graphic Settings are useless, it is more of what server, planet you are on rather than what settings you have.
If you have a g-sync compatible monitor, why set vsync to off?
Because G-Sync kills FPS, it is suitable for games that are not FPS dependant like single player mostly adventure games
