The thought of taking advantage of points is definitely worth it. Just use the programs that fit with your typical travels. Have too many credit cards may lower your credit score. With the program I use I get special deals . One being several free lounge access coupons.

That is a great point. Be strategic about which programs/credit cards you use... that can help maximize the benefits. Thank you!

Hi Alex. Your videos are inspiring. As a retiree, I have begun to do a lot of solo travel. Recently, I completed a 2-week, 5k mile solo trip on Amtrak. I can't remember when I've enjoyed myself more. Hope to see you out there on the rails!!

      @@alextravelssolo Hi Jenn,
As you know, I took an extended cross-country trip this summer of more than 5k miles by train. Many have been waiting for me to post pictures/videos of my trip. Finally, today I'm launching my TH-cam Channel to feature the first of many videos about this and other future journeys. This particular segment of my trip begins in Chicago and ends in San Francisco. This Amtrak segment is called the California Zephr. While I'm an avid photographer, this is my first attempt at such a video production, so please be kind. It's far from professional. Hope you enjoy.
FYI... subscribe to my TH-cam channel for future posts of more travel videos. Here's the link below:

@@alextravelssolo I finally completed my trip a couple of weeks ago. It was exciting and exhausting all at the same time. But it inspired me to follow in your footsteps and begin a TH-cam channel. I posted my first video yesterday. It's very exciting!!
