Workmanship quality is key. You cannot cut corners with flat roof, best material has to be used

I am always skeptical about flat roof. I preferred the regular roof for my house. I have been watching your videos recently and they are very helpful. Soon I will start building my house in west Africa

I agree with you. Our house was design that way and after long years. Several leakage occur. Specially if you have big trees around the house.
    The maintanence is really costly.

Thanks for this. Very helpful information and well explained. Initially I was not too convinced about the concrete/solid gutter, I think debris can still collect and build up there🤔 however atleast it can retain the weight of what has been collected over time in time for cleaning.

You know your stuff...u use the same terms we use in construction Canada...truss, wood frame, attic gable, hip and flat. Can you actually be contracted to build a house from start to finish. I feel you can be trusted because you disclose costs. With a trusted contractor, it is definitely cheaper to build than buy. I want to see more costs and timelines videos of example properties

The explanation makes sense. But hear is my question,. When building a flat roof, do I leave my iron sheets right before the wall or do I build all the way to the end of th wall and build blocks on top of the iron sheets. And how do I prevent a crack in between the iron sheets and built blocks on top... Thank you

Most people with flat roofs are lazy and they don't bother to regularly clean their roofs. Doing a flat roof has its pros and cons, same as hipped. If you build a low-quality flat roof or don't regularly maintain/clean it, then you'll definitely have problems. No cutting corners.
I should add that the concrete gutter (if you go for that) should be water-proofed and slopped enough to allowed water flow without any impediment.

I have too looked the research the same n to me if if it is rain n it is windy there is a cycling winds that tend to play a round game , the up air is in a circular motion n the down air in the house is calm . The space between iron sheet n gutter will be the only space where this eddy will sip through because they have been blocked by the wall. They will go together with the 💧 drops of watter n it will eventually rain 🌧️ inside. The second idea i if the roof is too flat ,i mean very small gradient, water from top of the sheet will flow down n then will not fall in the gutter n tend to go back on the lower side of sheet a distance of about 5 inches n i
