I would absolutely love to see your take on some of Hisaishi's pieces. The slow, melodic, romantic and jazzy vibes from his pieces combined with your impeccable striking and dancing spider-fingers would be so joyable. Best regards!

Well, first off you probably need to have a gift for it like Jacob😊. But on a more practical note one way that I’m pursuing this is with an online program I found called Pianote. This program is not exclusively jazz-focused but puts emphasis on improv, and I’ve learned a lot so far, really basic things I never learned in years of classical piano lessons, in the few months I’ve been doing it (you can find them on youtube). Play scales and arpeggios, and more scales and arpeggios, and more scales and arpeggios, so your fingers really know each key signature inside and out. Oh, and another thing that helps is downloading and learning Jacob’s sheet music. I’m learning one of his arrangements now and loving it. In fact, it’s making me so motivated to practice, which is exciting. As I type this he’s in the video saying “play what you like.” Good luck!
