Your finger flip on the vert ramp is one of the sickest tricks I’ve ever seen. I was so invested while watching the full video I actually jumped and yelled.
This is so amazing finally seeing a high quality vert skate boarding progression video. Not many exist. Here in my suburb in sydney, we only have one vert pipe that is 9 ft 6, you have to pay to use it as it is in the aquatic centre but I skate it as much as I can. Which isn't very often. I have not been able to drop in on it yet as I get too many nerves, yet I am able to back slash the coping when pumping. Highest drop in i've done is about 8 ft so it is still something I am working towards. Fractured my foot again learning board slides but as soon as i'm back on the board, I hope to smash it out some time soon.
About to be 31 in 2 weeks and I've been skating street for almost over 20 years.. I padded up and had my first vert session 2 days ago and I'm in love. Sick video bro!!! Nice progression!!!!!

rock n rolls are such a gnarly trick on vert because 1. you need to get your board on the deck. you just have to or else youll hang up easier. 2. you gotta keep your body in the bowl while your board is on deck or else itll be super hard to rotate back in. 3. its all or nothing. its so hard to bail out of this trick once its already in motion on vert. my worst slams are from rock n rolls. great looking trick when you get them though. this is a great video btw
I dropped in a big vert at camp woodward(14ft i think)when i was 16 but i was purely a street skater unfortunately so never learnt more, now at 32 im trying to get out to verts, if only i kept at vert all those years!
Awesome skills and style dude! Another pretty easy trick is fakie 180 boardslide to rock n roll / fakie. Easier to get a long boardslide as you use the momentum of the 180 to propel you along.

Havent skated for 10 years but a friend found his old board at his parents so we took it to a small park close to where we live now. It all just came back and i dropped the 90 degree quarter pipe first try :D
dude youre so sendy on an 11ft bowl! Rock n Rolls are one of those super easy and super hard tricks. I still cant do them on my local 9 ft bowl. You should try ollie nose grabs (backside of course). They are super easy to knee slide out of and the slow ollie motion feels so nice once you get used to it on vert. I'm still learning to get those higher above the coping

No idea how youtube took me here but ok... Full disclosure: I haven't set a foot on a skateboard in 12 years. And back then, much like most people, I was completely focused on street skating, no vert whatsoever. But at one point I decided to give it a go and everything mentioned in the video is absolutely correct. That said, some things are a lot harder to commit to. My absolutely greatest enemy was the frontside ollie(yes, the one thing that even your grandma can do on flat ground). I kicked the board out so many times that by the time I started committing to it, I was over-rotating to about 270 degrees as opposed to 180. Rock to fakie was first try for me but then again, I was very obsessed with being able to do anything switch(I blame Wenning and Janoski for this one) that It made little to no difference whether I was going switch or not.
I remember my first knee slide on the 14 foot vert ramp woo! My back was wtf that finger flip was sick! Just watched it while commenting lol oh yea my back was touching the ramp the whole slide down bet it looked hilarious 😂
I always like deep bowls because the barrier to entry keeps beginners who typically don't kniw skatepark etiquette out. Don't misinterpret this to think I don't like new riders. I just like when the skatepark is not a warzone.
Ha not a lot of scooter kids on Vert, go skate verts that sounds like a great idea. Me after trying to do jumps in a jump training facility nearly biting the dust in the most contained safe environment you could have.... maybe us old guys should just stick with the scooter kids :) They are fairly easy to impress with any random easy trick you can do.
I have a 12ft over vert ramp at my park in Lewisville Texas, (Railroad skatepark) I can drop in the 9ft, and I have it down pretty well. Any tips for the 12ft? I saw oververt because the coping is hanging more forward than the first start of the ramp. Plus it’s 12 ft. I have a fear of it. What should I do differently to overcome the fear?

Protections can actually save ur life, I broke my left wrist and hit my claw pretty hard in my last fall, now im using protections everytime👍
