The border is center of the Detroit River below, and I would assume that the bridge is the same because the Americans built our side and the Canadians built their side. This is a great collaboration between two countries.
Been hauling concrete on the Canadian side for three years now. Not the tower but the POE buildings. Gonna be retiring in November. What a job to finish my career. And I’ll always have MA’s terrific videos to remember the job of a lifetime. Thanks so much Michael.
Not a bridge inquiry but more of a drone inquiry. What’s to stop someone from say, flying over illegal contraband from one country to the other without the detection of border officials?
The heights of each side are dictated, right now, by tension. There is no need for them to be the same height right now. Pulling one side tighter will raise the deck. For those who keep asking why one side is higher. In short, it doesn't matter right now. It's more important that their centers line up.
YA KNOW WHAT'S really amazing...as they fit the edge girder in place and bolt it up..the fact that the bolted end is responsible to holding up that entire edge girder!! Wow, that's a lot of weight on those 600 or so nuts and bolts. By the way, what size nut and bolt are they using to attach the plates to the existing structure??
@@michaelpjeffries1521My brother in law is working on the bridge. Multiple agencies from both countries are already on site and have been for some time including the FBI and RCMP. In fact, I believe joint border enforcement agencies from both countries have control of the complete site.
@MichaelAnthonyVideos You should plan a bigger production for closing the span. Maybe more cameras and more angles. Maybe interviews with the ironworkers. Maybe airdrop donuts to the guys!
Beautiful imagery/editing and moving audio accompaniment. Maybe after the excitement of closing the gap has subsided, you could make a composite video showing the installation from start to finish of one stay ? Appears they have four more to install, in case you don’t have sufficient video already.
There is a significant height difference from the U.S. side and the Canadian side. They will control that with the tensioner cables I think Michael said. I don't want to miss that!!!
I’m so impressed with the standard of work that’s being achieved but I’m equally totally bemused that they have to wait until the two sides are nearly together before they start levelling them up. Surely with all the technology available they could have made appropriate levelling corrections as they moved closer to the tie up.
Looks like they just tweak and adjust the cable tension to make the final alignment. Amazing work! There should be a celebration and fireworks !
Unbelievable how they do that.
I do NOT want to miss the last section going in!!! It will be Epic!!!
