      Darlene Tripp - Women of *every* size are “real”. 🙄 I’m in my 60s, size 0, don’t diet, or go too crazy with exercise, just try to live a healthy lifestyle. Based on the existence of 3 offspring, there is evidence that I am, in fact, quite real. Women come in all shapes and sizes; they are all “real”, and they should all be represented in fashion, thin, heavier, and everything in-between..

    • @altitudeiseverything3163

      D Moore - Where I live thin and fit IS the norm, even for women like me: 3 kids and in my 60s - size 0 and I assure you, very “real life” - I eat well, get a reasonable amount of exercise, and have never counted calories! Women need to support and empower each other, not body shame them, whether they are heavy, OR thin!

    • @dmoore8557
      @dmoore8557 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@altitudeiseverything3163 I am 64, 5'1"tall and weigh 108 pounds, so not body-shaming anyone. Just feel that this was a very one-sided and biased video. I am both a runner and a lifter... however, I know that this is not the norm for most people I know.
      Not sure where you live, but I have my doubts that it is truly the norm in your area either - maybe your specific community, but be honest. What do you see when you go out of that area? A bunch of average women or a whole lot of model types?
      I work hard to be where I am, but do understand that not everyone has the time or energy for this, and would love to see that this show would take the time to include non-skinny, non-tall women as well as those they showed.

    • @altitudeiseverything3163
      @altitudeiseverything3163 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      D Moore - My apologies, I’ve just been body shamed all my life and that type of thing is just getting worse online lately. I would never criticize someone for their weight, but it has always seemed acceptable to criticize very thin women, especially if they are middle age, or beyond: they must be vain, neurotic, compulsive calorie counters, or maybe they have an eating disorder. I do agree with you that all sizes should be represented in fashion articles, shows, catalogs, etc. I also think that there needs to be more variety in ages and even abilities shown.
      To clarify: thin and fit is indeed the norm where I live, even for women over 60. I live in the most fit & thin city (Boulder) in the most fit & thin state (Colorado) in the U.S. The area is focused on outdoor sports, healthy eating, and wellness. Most of our friends are competitive cyclists, ski racers, triathletes, and runners. Virtually all of the rest are avid recreational rock climbers, hikers, snowshoers, ....you get the idea. People play hard here! My husband is a cyclist and races a road bike, cyclocross, and track; he’s in his 70s. While I enjoy a number of sports, I’m not at that level myself. And, yes, It *is* a different world in most of the rest of the country.

    So out of touch.. I am approaching 50, have long ditched velvet, stilletos (wth are they thinking), jumpsuits. Comfort does not mean unfashionable.

      History High with Lisa Marrie - I’m with you; I *love* velvet! And I’d still be wearing stilettos - some of the time - if they didn’t make me feel as if I *had* died! 😉

      @@altitudeiseverything3163 LOL, same with me in the heels. My oldest daughter is 32 and she calls them entrance heels, you make an entrance then sit down and kick them off under the table. I do love me some velvet

    Boooooooring! & why are their models all so similar in built? I find Daytime TV often a real insult to women's intelligence. :(

  • @lisakachurek6074
    @lisakachurek6074 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    The models aren’t 50 or over( but yet modeling clothes for that age ? Very stupid idea) and the models bodies don’t capture the real bodies of women over 50.
    What the heck is this ? 🤨

      A more modern haircut? Shorter perhaps to lift her cheekbones on a long face, more blush, more colors. 🤔

    Old people over 50 should just stick with the basics.

      Laurie - I have a feeling that might be a younger person, trying to tell us “old people” how to dress. I would say what I think of that, but I don’t like to use bad language online. {Slipping my skinny jeans & leather moto jacket on now, to go out with my hubbie...} 😎

      M Salsberg - Maybe you’re getting that masculine vibe from the boyfriend jeans and the loafers, both of which are on trend right now, as is the menswear influence in general.

    Cool styles. But the trousers that were styled with the red blazer were way too long. It looked ugly. Also, I'm not a fan of bare feet in shoes, it looks sloppy. Wear nylon stockings, or any stockings that match your outfit. Will also prevent you from getting wear wounds on your feet.
