There is always a measure (squish) that must be observed. With the BGM cylinder, this should be a dimension of at least 0.9mm and a maximum of 1.1mm.
If the size gets smaller, the compression can become too high and the cylinder can become too hot and damaged.
If the size is too large, you will lose power and torque.

It’s cylinder to head clearance and head needs to be torqued down to be accurate, I use a used head gasket when performing this and on some engines measure with a drop mic thru the spark plug hole at TDC and then the head on a surface plate a vernier will work perfectly too. Squish got my attention, like plastigage altho that’ll work too.

Hello, what would be the recommended squish for an original Piaggio PX 200 cylinder and head?

You do not appear to have used the head gasket on the second (checking) trial ?
If so, would the 0.96 mm result not be bigger by that gasket's thickness ?
I saw someone else recommend the squish should be measured above the gudgeon pin, so should the solder wire be placed (horizontally) at 3 o'clock to 9 o'clock ?

Hab bei meinem BGM 177 mit 60 er Drehschieber Kurbelwelle die Qk auf 0.94 eingestellt.
Ist das O.K?
