That's what I call a truly spectacular area. That Command Observation Bunker is truly a unique one-off design. Love the fact the steel ladders are still in place, and solid. So cool. All those rocks in the bunkers have been used to block up the bunkers, and parts of the bunkers, after the war, probably by German P.O.W.'s, and probably taken from the "running trenches", and blast walls, etc., surrounding the bunkers. Luckily for us, someone has come along much later and moved them all out of the way. That would have been some effort. Truly an amazing place, that looks like it went through quite a few changes and additions, while in German hands. Cannot wait to see what else you found there. Thanks for sharing this incredible place. Cheers to you all! Stay Safe and Well!

I really like that place, very special firing control bunker. Amazing to see the traces of the older fortification that was there before the germans arrived also, and how they furter developed it. The location was strategic, and together with other locations nearby, protected an area of very high importance. Glad most of the installations are still there for us to see.

That was quite the island. A perfect place for a gun installation with a defensive view/position of the Atlantic passage. Thank you for takng us inside of the bunker and as if you needed to ask if EE was ready. He is always ready :). It was something seeing all of the original cables, connection boxes, and communication cabinet. Thank you for overview of this German defensive position, Thank you HH and EE. Looking forward to Part 2 of gun island.

Unique 10.5m gun placement and munitions layout. Interesting that it was made to adapt to Russian 8.8 cm guns later. You were right HH the one bunker did have stairs/steel ladder. Very impressive with the machine gun Tobruk. Enjoyed EE running commentary. Looking forward to P2. Stay safe you 2 and enjoy your 6 week camper van vacation adventure.

It must have been incredibly difficult to build these concrete positions among all the rock we see in the video. Placing heavy guns here was another tremendous effort that must have required a great deal of labor and materials. Just fascinating to imagine all the work that took place at one time. Another excellent adventure my friends with so many emplacements close together. Great work you two. I have a question though, which you may not be able to answer. We see so many scattered homes along the waters viewable from the installations. Were they something people built after the war or were some already there. I suspect some of the towns were ther for some time but ???? Be safe, be well and be careful EE and Dad HH...

The observation bunker is one of the most interesting and unusual features I have seen on this channel so far. Would it also serve as a command bunker or are most command bunkers set further back. Very unusual to see so many electrical features in a bunkers. It’s going to take something special to out do this location.

All those rocks in the bunker must have been a lot of work to carry them in. And why??!!

I wonder why as well and it seems pretty senseless or what ?. Thanks Mary.

These locations are absolutely incredible. It makes me wonder, did the allys just not attack in These areas? Did they just go around them.
It seems like there are so many of them. Was this strategy a mistake on the Germans part? Awsome vidio History Hunter and Eagle Eyes!!! You guys are the best at what you do by far. Thanks guys!!
