Made this tonight with a couple small changes based on what I had (also added five spice to the chicken, just for the hell of it) and it was FANTASTIC! Thanks!

What's the name of the Hunan restaurant mentioned early on? Authenticity may be a little overrated but its also good to know what close to the real deal is!

Again I’m so late to this party but I love it so much. Thank you so much for offering 400 series level courses on wok technique. The Woks of Life Channel obviously has their PhD in wok technique. ❤❤❤

Love your blog, family and Americanized Chinese cooking. Of course not authentic, but come on now, it was a way for first Chinese immigrants to the US to earn a living, and still very tasty and much healthier than any other American food.

Completely agreed, Mark! It's why we have so many Chinese American classics on our blog. thewoksoflife.com/category/recipes/chinese-take-out/ The reason we called it out here is because the average Hunan chicken just seems like chicken with brown sauce and we'd rather call Chicken with brown sauce chicken with brown sauce and leave the name Hunan Chicken for something a little more special :D

Well if you’re ever in Bridgewater NJ check out Fortune Cookies. They rock Hunan Cuisine from 11am to 900pm at 41 Old York Road. Take the 22 to 202, by the mall, and then, 202 to the 206 and get off at Somerset heading west, that’s the 626. It’ll turn into Old York and it’s on the left. Enjoy❤❤❤
