She was ALWAYS meant to die, her death in the comics is one of the most important and iconic Spider-Man stories. One thing the director Marc Webb excelled in was capturing their incredible chemistry which makes her death so impactful.
One unfortunate canon event for the Spider-Verse.

The tragedy of Peters life with the loss of his parent's, uncle and Gwen is what makes and strengthens him. To survive that amount of loss and to use that pain to fight so that others don't experience is why he fights so hard.

The Electro’s soundtrack is one of my favorite things about this movie, it has an inner monologue about his fears and anxiety and it does have a dubstep base which was really popular around that time but still holds up today and I love hearing it. Gwen’s death still hurts after all these years

If you rewatch the ending, the third film was to feature many villains, known in the comics as the “Sinister Six”, which, if you look again, included Doctor Octopus. 🐙
Also, Harry’s assistant, Felicia, was to become another character, the *Black Cat* 🐈⬛ Magy, she was played by Felicity Jones, who you saw as the lead in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.
Thats why Rhino was wasted? That sucks.
When I first watched this film in cinema I too was in absolute disbelief when she hits the ground, then they show the funeral and him visiting her grave all year and I was absolutely BROKEN, along with everyone else in that cinema. So many TEARS.
You think the first Amazing Spiderman movie had some tough moments, then you watch this one and it just wrecks you.

The way Peter visits Gwen's grave throughout every season was one of the best parts about this film. You really feel the grief and emotional weight of what he's going through, how he's so traumatized and in pain that he will never be able to forgive himself.
Not only did he lose the love of his life, he also let Gwen's father down after he failed to keep his promise to stay away from her for her own safety. If anything that's what add more guilt on his conscience.

Laura I'm with you. I read this comic when I was a little child a few decades ago. I've lived long enough to never accept Gwen's death. That marked my life. I remember that I kept reading that comic for weeks living in denial. Everytime I see this movie it brings back the child that cold not believe what his eyes were reading. I'm going to stop now. Gwen Stacey was Peter Parker's first real girlfriend and she died from a fall at the hands of the Green Goblin. This is in the comics. Peter never thought he'd move on until they finally introduce him to Mary Jane Watson. This is comic book history.
The Tobey McGuire Spider-Man films just start with Mary Jane Watson from the beginning. Skipping the history of Gwen Stacey. Parker's first real love. And a heartbreaking tragic ending. -OG

I’ll never get over how amazing the visuals and sound design are in this movie. Also the thing that makes Gwen’s death so impactful is the fact that Andrews acting makes it seem like Gwen’s actually dead. His crying makes other people cry and then sooner or later a chain reaction erupts. I still wanna third movie by the way. If you want a third movie with venom and black cat like this comment

I personally thought this was an excellent film. It had a good amount of comedy, truly deep emotions, and brilliant action. A great, cohesive film to lead on from the first one.

I’m guessing somebody’s mentioned it, but STAN LEE is the guy you want to look for, popping up in comic book movies.
(And definitely look him up with regard to his comic book history, etc.)
This is my favourite Spider man movie series because this is the closest to the real origin story, he did lose Gwen.. Spider man has a very sad story where he learned a lot from his mistakes and tragedies and grew to be a great person and hero, because of what happened to Gwen he closed himself out from love for a long time
I also love the scene where spider man saves all those people at the stairs from being electrocuted, it shows how fast he really is, even though it was just a scene where he did "the usual stuff" effortlessly, he is a lot faster than that

I personally think so because in the beginning of the movie there were certain points where she needed to make it clear, “this is going my way this time idc”. Like when she broke up with Peter, reasonable, but she made it very clear that SHE was breaking up with HIM. And then during the fight, he literally webbed her to the car so she doesn’t follow him, and she still followed him even though he was fighting a human electron cloud, and THEN a crazy old homie pulls up and wants to be petty and then BOOM back broke completely out of coincidence, cuz even if she ain’t hit the ground the whiplash mighta fucked her up still like in the comics

Andrew Garfield deserves a third Solo film. Also that's how Spiders worked on Peter because of his father, Brilliant Richard 👏🏿.
Back before all these movies, many of us followed Spiderman on the comic books. And in the original stories, MJ was never the "love" of Peter, it was Gwen. MJ chased after him but he only had eyes for Gwen. And when Gwen passed, in very similar circumstances as in the movie, it was a major blow to Peter, and readers could not believe it. Spiderman, XMen, Thor, great comic books way back when. 🙂

7:00 this line is just what makes Gwen a better character than Mary Jane. Gwen loved Peter because of Peter, of his personality, not that because he was Spider-Man. Speaking of MJ from Raimi trilogy, she fell in love with Peter when she discovered he's Spooder-Man, and still been either with Harry, or with Jameson's son and etc. And always being the lady in trouble (ok everyone hase their own vision on characters, maybe that was Sam Raimi's way to see characters) but Gwen is just not only a love interest, but a partner also who tries to help Peter (same thing I noticed in the Spider Man insomniac games, they made MJ's personality similar to Gwen- trying to help Peter- this just proves that Gwen is the G.O.A.T.) 😆
We’re getting close to No Way Home for Laura. Even though TASM2 is not a perfect film Andrew’s acting is phenomenal with Emma as Gwen with both of them together they are amazing. But Gwen’s fate just remains in my brain still sad to watch. Thanks for the reaction you two!
Sony had a 3rd Amazing Spider-Man planned but it was scrapped. People thought it was because it underperformed and critics trashed it but thanks to the infamous 2014 Sony hacking incident, the world knows exactly why Garfield was fired and the answer to the question, why was The Amazing Spider-Man 3 canceled? Garfield failed to show up at a planned press event in Brazil announcing the sequel, and that offended top Sony brass enough to sever ties. Gwen was supposed to be resurrected and become Spider-Gwen but Sony took it personal with Garfield cancelling at the last minute and thus we never got to see Emma Stones version of her😢
fact about Gwen Stacy's death is that it was more brutal in the comics .. she fell off the bridge and just like at the clock tower Peter dove down to save her and shoot the web but it caught her ankles plus Gwen hit her head on the ground. when I first watch this I was mad she is gone and at the same time I knew it was going to happen . also ladies remember in the first film that when George Stacy is about leave Gwen out of this in the comics he tells Peter keep her safe.
Gwen would never survive regardless of point catched by web and even if not hit ground. Web yank at this speed would kill her as well.

Its comic comic-accurate. Yall both saw across the Spiderverse, Gwen herself said that in every other universe, it doesn't end well. This is one of those instances.

Magy gets credit for trying to keep from revealing Gwen’s fate. She was trying to keep it together and pretty much did so.
I knew from the comics that Gwen dies, but it still hits hard.
I think although as much I didn’t like the ending, I mean I’m sure all of us didn’t, it broke all of us. The message here is goes back to the first part about what Uncle Ben says, “With great power, comes great responsibility”. It shows how much hero's sacrifice for our wellbeing. As unfair as it seems, it is what it takes. Makes all of us stronger. Spiderman teaches us that. Salute to heros, especially those unsung.
Fun fact there was an alternate ending where Peter’s father survived the crash and shows up to Gwen’s grave to tell Peter “With Great Power Comes Great Responsibility”

Laura, Amazing Spiderman 3 is about to introduce spider gwen . The leak script determined peter using his blood trying to resurrect her after still can’t accept the situation. And, sadly andy was sacked by sony before the movie shoot

My only issues with this one are Harry's Goblin design(who tf thought that was a good look?!), and the fact that Rhino not only looked ridiculous, but was completely wasted.
As for me very "middle" movie, but with really strong ending.
