personally wasn't a fan of nxde but i think the fact that soyeon, as a female idol, is receiving public recognition as a songwriter and producer is great news. i hope that we get more idols able to make their own music in the future.

But I couldn't disagree more about her bringing the same sound every comeback, just compare all her title tracks. Red Shoes, Celebrity, Palette. They all have Iu's signature touch but aren't the same sonically.

Some Kpop fans truly think Korea starts and ends with their favorite idol groups lol. The most popular genre of music in Korea is ballades and the public is especially receptive to well written lyrics. IU delivers on both fronts. If you don’t even understand Korean it’s hard to fully get what would make some poetry in Korean better than another one.

In my opinion tomboy was really one of the best music video bcs if u watched some of their interviews soyeon mentioned that they really invested big money just to shoot the mv,and they putted alot of effort to it so lets just congratulate them.

i think some underestimated how popular ive were on melon this year. this is a award show based on the melon music app, and they were always on top. newjeans was also very popular but I guess they had the disadvantage of debuting in august this year, but if i remember correctly ive dominated the girl group game on melon this year. MMA gives awards based on their own charts aka melon charts. It's like korean billboard. So, they don't care about international success. if they did, JHope would've received many noms.

For everyone saying this is a Korean award show and not an international and the awards are based on domestic popularity not global, I would check out the fan cams. On the official broadcast audience response was kind of filtered out but a handful of times the sound of cheering from the audience breaks through on Lesserafim’s performance. I watched audience recordings of each performance and honestly they had the loudest cheering section and was one of the only groups the audience attempted to do a fan chant for. I gotta say- I’ve’s performance was oddly quiet for their supposed popularity level. And to be honest I think the Korean public is harder on them then global audiences. For me the discomfort is from how there’s blatant favoritism on Starship’s part of not just I’ve but specifically some of their members. The neglect of Gael and Liz. Starship also has a very complicated past. But the last girl group to win was Twice…and I don’t think I’ve is at that level honestly. :/ I’m suspicious ngl

Kpop songs have been all about making viral hits and tiktok challenges that some of you actually have forgotten about actual music.YTC was released as a promise to Armys. The lyrics and MV is so special that non fans wouldn't understand. They could have easily made RUN BTS the title track but didn't because they are actual artists who value their art and its meaning. Proof only had three new songs yet outcharted everyone other artist out there. They sold millions and is the best selling album of the year with only 2 versions compared to the 10-20 versions some of these kpop grps release to inflate the numbers.And for YTC it debuted straight at No1 Melon Top 100 the first for any song.I am not going to talk about bb since the awards were based on korean charts. They won fare and square by meeting all the required criterias. You people need to actually stream and vote to win the awards instead of whining.
As for IVE winning song of the year was deserving. Them and G idle had equal chances of winning.

it was definitely amazingand they deserve the win.... these kpop stans just don't like ballads that's why they are saying bts don't deserved it.. for kpop stans a "good comeback" is having dark music, sharp choreos, dark outfits, harnesses, eyeliners like for them that's what a good comeback is even if the song is meaningless. They don't appreciate the artistry of an artist itself or the message they are conveying.

I'm not a totally fan of this two groups I've and NJ...but for me New Jeans deserve this award. They're so amazing when it come to their concepts and songs. At their first debut they totally get the attention of everyone.
they are, but they just debuted and sadly didnt get to the point where ive is now (they will prob do it w the next comeback 100%), remeber these things arent based on whivh one is your fav, but which one had the most impact, NJ had a big impact but this is just their debut. For me, IVE deserves this award. Because they are so amazing in their concepts and songs. At their first debut they totally got everyone to notice them even debuting from a midsized company.

Those were basically they're only two hits. Besides, new jeans just debuted. I've had had 3 hits. And their b sides like my satisfaction and royal are really good. Eleven and love dive had a HUGE impact. Like I'm not kidding they're songs are really addicting. Yeah they may be overhyped but I really like their music and believe they deserved the award

BTS winning best male group makes perfect sense considering they’re literally legends and all the forgettable songs that other boy groups have put out this year. I would also like to mention that PROOF wasn’t even an actual comeback, it was a compilation album, and yet they STILL stay winning and nominated for 5 Grammys because they have a loyal fan base and the numbers to back it up. Again for all the children out there, having a loyal fan base and a group being popular doesn’t make the group bad it just makes you sad because bts hasn’t had an actual comeback in years and they keep winning simply because you don’t know how to actually put in the work and vote/stream that or their music is wack. The stuff that boy groups have been putting out this year have all been flops, bsffr if you actually thought that they would actually win against the global hit maker, multi award winner, and 5 time Grammy nominees that are known as BTS? BTS literally raised the economy for South Korea, opened the door for kpop to global audiences everywhere, and constantly raise money for charity’s and global causes (talking millions of dollars) and you think anyone else is more deserving? You don’t have to like them by any means, if you don’t like a song that’s just your opinion, but put some respect on their name there’s a reason why every boy group now says their inspirations are BTS, there’s a reason why they keep getting these awards and many more, and kpop wouldn’t be no where near as global today if it weren’t for BTS. I think BTS deserved to win The best boy group, just because they released chill songs doesn't mean they don't deserve it. I respect that someone doesn't like Yet to come, but that didn't mean that their comeback was bad. To be honest, Yet to come is a chill song, so it belongs to the better comebacks, it's not their best song, but it's not bad either, and I have the feeling that fans forget that BTS also released the song Run, for which they also invented the choreography, and that they still release solo songs which are also great and still work hard like the other groups. In my opinion, they deserve it and it's not because they are famous, but they still work hard and whether it's a chill or a cool song, they still put their feelings and their hard work into the songs. I'm still not saying that the other groups don't deserve it, but if the other groups won something too, I wouldn't allow myself to say that they don't deserve it, because they all work hard and they all deserve to win.
And another reason why they deserved it is that they always make music from the heart, not just to win awards and make the songs popular and cool, they make music to help people, to thank their fans or to enjoy their music and etc.

IVE has dominated the charts with love dive since April its even still in top 10 rn despite fighting against many newly released songs.
