Me and my wife rode from Albuquerque to Sturgis last year using our hammock touring seat on my street glide and she ended up complaining about her butt the next day so I told her that a lot of people like sheep skin on their seat so we pulled over and bought one that covered the entire seat and what a difference it made for both of us. Didn’t heard a peep about from her again for the rest of the trip. We took it off whenever there was rain storm and put it back on because we were afraid it’s gonna ruin it. I recommend it to a friend of mine and he bought one and likes it too.
When I saw this blue LR, I literally was like, "I HAVE to have that!" LOL I have the sheepskin on my Street Glide as well, it really makes a nice improvement to ride quality.
May work for some, only make my butt more hot yet. I have tried sheepskins on various BMW stock and Corbin seats, and no good for me. The sheepskin just holds even more heat under my butt. I need airflow, and a wooden bead seat cover works much better, even done a 500 mile day on one.
Well, I hope I didn't make a mistake lol, I ordered the skwoosh medium without the gell insert that says it 3/4 "thick and a sit and fly mesh to go on top to add extra something, lol when I put it together I eill see 👀 😅
Lambskin or sheepskin (from older sheep)? Does it stay comfy during long rides? Do you have to take it off if it rains to dry it or just leave it on the seat?
I've never had it get wet, but my understanding it it takes a long time to dry. It's not supposed to be washed. If it is wet, it should air dry. Check out here: www.sheepskinshop.com/pages/care-instructions

I’m thinking about a sheepskin seat cover, but I subscribed because of the awesome blue color of the Low Rider. Gets me every time.

Sheep skin just work. 600 miles in a day and your rear-end don't hurt. Winter keep your butt warm, summer keep moisture away.

I have always thought the comfort comes from side support of the seat, but firm seats would be better than soft ones.
Is anything is better than the torture devices that come from the factory.
Now, if you ever get your wife to ride with you anymore, you could have used that first one for the back.

It's like that with a lot of things, one person swears by it and it's a no go for others. Is glad you found something that works for you.

I've never liked gel pads. I also don't like to be lifted up any higher if it can be avoided. These things usually come down to trial and error.
