I decided I wanted to find a TH-cam video to help me get all the infinite weapons in RE2 remake, and ended up binge-watching you for two days. Resident Evil was cemented as my favorite franchise at the age of 8. I have a much older brother too (12 yr gap), and we played the hell out of all the RE classics and Silent Hills. Good times. Anyways, I'm loving the content and look forward to more, particulary R3make!
my dad showed my RE when i was 5, we had played wolfenstein and doon95 on DOS. he saw RE add and got me it for my PS. been hooked since, since i watched bawk about month before re3 remake came out i wanted to speedrun. now im down to the same time as 33rd in the world (if submitted, it was done on livestream). after months of running that i switched to classic RE. started on 3, moved to RE2, now after two weeks on that (after not playing it for over 10 years) im down to 54 min on Leon A. point? bawkbasoup is so fun to watch and makes ppl want to SR, and thats amazing. communities like his are the reason we got re2 r and re3 r and why we are getting more RE. Love
@@actuallywill Yes and No. - Communites can be good for it, but also a pain in the ass for it. due to Nostalgia they all have a subjective opinion on Remakes and you can literally feel it when you read through the RE3R critic and it is totally not fun. - as if a Remake has to be a Remaster in a way, like with RE1 (which isnt a Remake btw, it was a simple Remaster) and so the Gaming Community has treated Remakes like 1 to 1 transport, but with better graphics and a little change. - which isnt what a Remake should be. - but the Gaming Community wants it that way, cause of Nostalgia. and because thats the case... Developers doing Remakes dont really have alot of options, its like as if people want evry single thing from the Original included in the game and why is that? Nostalgia... they cant deal with the fact that Developers might dislike a Scenario (i do agree tho that RE3R was a bit short.) - but i did love what they did to the game and i totally agreed with Capcom to not have the Clock-Tower as a complete Scenario but simply introduce it to the Fans (but not make it a complete Scenario like in RE3-O). so in a way... Communities like this can also ruin games quite a lot and there are examples out there where games died cause of the gaming Community, cause they wanted either too much or Developers tried something new and the Community bashed it like the game was completely ruined, just cause it wasnt what they were used to and thats bad.

I came back to this game to get the Plat after a few years, followed your guide with a few liberties because I'm not an absolute God like you. Anyways my first run I got to Yawn in the library and only had 2 grenade launcher shots...no saves before hand either. I almost shed tears
I play the german version of the game and verything that has to do with text (be it inventory stuff od other screen text) is so annoyingly slow. Is the only way to fix this playing the japanese version, or an other workaround I just didn't find jet?
Hi Bawk big fan of you and RE, I was poking around and I couldn’t get a clear answer on what I was searching for. I was curious as to how much time the door loads add to the timer following your route with Jill? If by any chance you may know or anyone else.
I can run this at about 1:30 mins on console. So I can't skip doors. And I feel like that's SUPER good for me. I think door skipping takes off about 20-25 minutes right? So my time would be around probably and hour and ten minutes.

I think thats the beauty of these games they can take up to like 20 hours to casual play it but once u learn it and go back to it you can beat it in under 5 hours easy.

Retro DoodManX exactly. The goal is to finish as fast as possible by taking certain routes, picking up only what’s needed to progress, using various mechanics and selecting faster text options.
Its a general category for speedrunning with no specific rules. Any% means that you don't have to do any optional tasks, (all you have to do is get to credits). For example side quests in RPG games. I'm assuming it has been named like this to differentiate itself from a 100% category that a lot of games might have.
The second fight with Tirant just happen with the self destruction sistem. In Jill's run, Barry activates the self destruction sistem, in Chris's run Rebeca activates. To skip the fight Just let them die
Aashir Anwar they are not required to find any secrets, unnecessary routes or quests. Essentially it’s complete the game as barebones as possible. Sometimes they are glitchless, depends on stipulations set by the community.

runners usually use the japanese or chinese versions because the text saves time over the english version. it’s a pretty substantial difference.
