Looking Back at My First Leatherworking Projects | What Have I Learnt?

- Today, in this slightly rambling video suggested by the venerable viewer Sam Johnston, I have a look at my first two leatherwork projects.
I go over what I've learnt from making them and the changes I've made to my process since then, and touch on why I think a reflective attitude is a good thing to have as a leatherworker.

Found this channel while looking for leatherworking beginner tips a couple of weeks ago. I thought you were a much bigger channel and did this more full time as your videos look amazing and are really well done. You are far under-appreciated! It's really awesome to watch someone do it as a real hobby and in the UK, you seem to be the best UK leather channel I've found so far. You also really helped as I was struggling with finding UK leather suppliers and relevant stuff to us here. Thank for you for the awesome videos! Keep it up!
Thanks very much for your comment, it's made my afternoon :)
Ditto! There’s too few UK based leatherwork channels, and this one has been a real help. Keep up the good work. 👍
I really liked this video! Please do come back and make more of them 🤔
Ah I will when I have time! Turns out moving halfway across the country and starting a new career is bloody hard work :D
Glad you like the content!
Glad to have discovered your channel. I've been looking in to leatherwork as a hobby. I am yet to start but it has been of interest for a while, I've enjoyed watching your videos, great for to
Tips!
Thanks very much! Good to hear they're useful, got a couple more informative ones in the pipeline =)
Great video. I agree about stitching punches. Problem I've got is I knock through on one side along the line I've marked and it's awful on the other side!
Make sure they're totally vertical every time, it took me a good while to get the hang of it.
I had the opposite problem with my first leather wallet, only had 2mm so it's very thick 😂
Oh dear, not ideal! I can imagine it's more of a pocket weight than a wallet!
Anybody that uses the word venerable in their video description gets a like from me.
Looking forward to more of your content soon.
Ah thanks very much indeed! The content is appearing very slowly, but appearing!
Your channel is my favorite thing to watch but I feel you should have more subs and be more successful but I enjoy them : ).
I love sitting down and watching your videos
Maybe one day! Thanks very much for the praise!
