I could see this being a MGS or Assassin's Creed mission where you're sneaking around the city assassinating artillery and capturing the town squad before you signal for the army to siege... expect its a vampire on a giant undead dragon and the army is skeletons.. close enough.

Your comment about the amount of ammunition left on the artillery may be true. In most if not all total war games including Warhammer, if the unit still has ammo left, the original unit can still retake it. So, my educated guess is the pieces are, therefore "active" and still count as a unit or at least part of a unit. But like you said, testing needed, lol. I wonder if the same thing would happen if all of the ammo was used up.

Then again, like he said, his primary objective was to clear out artillery regardless for the cap, but not knowing this particular problem provided an explanation for that. I personally would have done it just in case shat hit the fan lol
I think it's likely that the artillery was providing capping defence because you got them to abandon the guns without killing the crews or destroying the guns themselves. At least one of the Hellstorm crews survived to fight on the walls towards the end.
That's VC. Lot's of free skellies and zombies and few powerful lords/heroes killing everything while everyone is focused on chaff you can replace in a second.
maybe its different in vanilla TWW and on legend difficulty but i have always found death magic to be extremely powerful and i have turned the tides of many games through the use of death magic especially the leadership nerfing and the purple sun vortex magic.
This helps im trying to learn vampire counts and play as one on easy difficulty i always have a hard time starting my provinces unlike in humans and dwarves
Was it the artillery pieces preventing the capture, or could it be that invoked creatures can't do it? I don't remember facing that problem when capturing enemy towns (with regular troops), and walled empire garrisons always have a mortar or rocket team camping in the town square.
Legend said he's done it before with summons, so presumably it can be done. I suspect it's a bug whereby the pieces still count as presence as long as the unit hasn't been destroyed or routed off. On legendary difficulty that takes quite a lot of work and time, because you'd almost have to kill them to a man, but it could have been done here.
I really don't understand how people can overcast wind of death so often and kill so much. 120hrs in (TW:WH1) and I have to save up to use it as I swear it uses 30 (here it only uses 21) and means not much left for anything else. Also, even though I overcast, the units that get hit at the start and end of the spell (around 30% of units hit) just get back up with 0 damage. I've used it maybe 30 times and only once, *almost* took out 2 units. Do the necromancers somehow give you a bigger magic pool or make spells cheaper? Or more powerful? I've used mine to make buildings 20% cheaper. Has it just been nerfed in 20201?
Sieges are the easiest if ypu have great flying hero/lords. I did half of Hagbane campaign with only her and 2 manticores summons. It is enough to clear walls and place darkshards here. And yeah, beastlore magic is great for witches/slaughters cause it gives armor and speed so you can penetrate through everything quicker.
I cannot figure out the skeleton army thing for the life of me! I usually play Vlad or Isabelle, and find my troops just get endlessly mulched, then my lords die from no units/leadership. Very frustrating!

why is it that when you use wind of death you either do lots of damage or lots of killing of even both, but everytime i use it on death row line in my battles, even when its fully upgraded and boosted it does next to no damage at all? lol
Unit size affects unit count and HP. Ultra being highest. legendary difficulty or battle limit settings could mean no timer. Or getting caught/chased as well

I just picked up the game a couple of weeks back and am currently in my very first playthrough (which i am doing with Mannfred) and i ignored raise dead for the most part of my campaign because the tooltips says you cannot summon anything when your army is "full" (assuming full means 20 units in an army). As i' ve progressed through my campaign (i am very lategame atm) i eventually picked up the spell with my necromancers since they are lvl 30+ and dont need anything else. Just yesterday i had a battle with 2 of my armies against lothern and i figured i want to test the spell: "Cannot someone due to army being full" Now i wonder (in fact i' ve wondering for a time now since everybody praises raise dead; thought it might be really good in multiplayer as you will certainly loose units in multiplayer and then be able to use the spell): Was this spell nerfed recently? I mean this vid is just 3 months old and uses the spell in a way that i thought impossible (20 units in army and still being able to summon several units of zombies). Or does "full" mean 40 when you select "control large army"? I am not fully grasping this spell yet, it seems. ^^ Would highly appreciate some clarification.
i tried their campaign like 10 times and always failed, cant get trade going can get nothing going, i suck with vampire armies. they are also very boring and bland to play.
so, ive got a few mods on my game, lvl 60, 2 skill points per elvel and a useful skill dump, unlimited regeneration (10000% of his health), and ive made vlad into a GOD, he is genuinly unkillable, the sword of khaine, armour of destiny, carstein ring, black periapt, and the other tricksters shard, vlad can kill thousands personally, with ease! he couldve walked up to the front of this fort and taken everything on head-on!
Why does Manfred at level 26 still have basic skeletons in his army?! That was first thing on my mind when I started video... EDIT: Lovely how many people think that this army can do it past turn 100 without Manfred shattering because his army dies off. And to argument that its beause they are cheap. Then where are other multiple armies to go with it so this makes sense?
@@KorsAir1987 Skeletons might be free but they are one of the most useless infantry units in game (same could be said about zombies they are also free...) but at this point at game he should have economy for full wraith army if he wanted... PS: Wind of death is usefull only if you arent done for before you get to use it which with this army can easily happen. And isnt as effective if enemy doesnt blob or has monster units.

I've capped the town square with 2 zombie summons before so something was definitely causing the enemy to have capping power.
He DID capture it with summons in this game. Problem was arty crew was still alive, making the guns their models and helping to capture.
I always translate 'Nagash was weak' to 'I am full of shit' where Mannfred is concerned.

so, ive got a few mods on my game, lvl 60, 2 skill points per elvel and a useful skill dump, unlimited regeneration (10000% of his health), and ive made vlad into a GOD, he is genuinly unkillable, the sword of khaine, armour of destiny, carstein ring, black periapt, and the other tricksters shard, vlad can kill thousands personally, with ease! he couldve walked up to the front of this fort and taken everything on head-on!

Why does Manfred at level 26 still have basic skeletons in his army?! That was first thing on my mind when I started video...
EDIT: Lovely how many people think that this army can do it past turn 100 without Manfred shattering because his army dies off. And to argument that its beause they are cheap. Then where are other multiple armies to go with it so this makes sense?
Skeletons are free and who needs good units when you have wind of death?
@@KorsAir1987 Skeletons might be free but they are one of the most useless infantry units in game (same could be said about zombies they are also free...) but at this point at game he should have economy for full wraith army if he wanted...
PS: Wind of death is usefull only if you arent done for before you get to use it which with this army can easily happen. And isnt as effective if enemy doesnt blob or has monster units.
@@martinbudinsky8912 Using skeleton stacks you can afford many more armies. Check out legend's vampire counts campaigns and you'll see what I'm talking about.
Why waste money when you can win with skeletons?

As much as I hate the vampire army units for the most part I love playing as manfred. He can decimate an army lol
