- This is a compilation of how Boiler City and ANTONBLAST have looked and played like across all public demo releases from the May 17th 2022 Kickstarter up until the April 17th 2024 Dynamite Demo 2.0 update.

We went from a simple Kickstarter demo from a full fledge game. And now releasing on November 12. We shall call this Antonday
I played hard mode and very much enjoyed it
And also on a triple a console (kind of)
Man, the difference between the Kickstarter demo and the new one feels like night and day
if i had a nickel for every time a wario land 4 spiritual successor evolved into more speed based platforming, i would have 2 nickels, which isn't a lot but it's weird it happened twice by now
Warioland meets Michael bay in a nutshell I can't wait for the full game to come in November

I'm kinda upset they removed Anton's laugh from the first demo. I liked it

they could've been removed because they were exact references to wario land 4

@@strawbrryspirit Same with Pizza Tower. Ultimately, Wario is just inspiration. Neither are trying to be just a Wario game.
I kinda miss Anton being a super tough guy in the earlier demos, he started out with 4 HP, then he got 6 in the 1.0 demo, but now he has just 3 in the newer ones
It made Anton feel like more of an unstoppable force but now he feels sorta weak in terms of a game where you're constantly dealing with massive explosions, maybe a mod could give him his health back?
The game would've been too easy if it had 6 health units though. It's designed under the assumption that you will die a lot on your first playthrough. As for the mod thing, I doubt it since the game is compiled with the YoYo Compiler, which means that you can't view the game's code, which means that you can't mod the game like you can for example, in Pizza Tower.
@mxloukaplayz9487 Dynamite Demo 1.0 and Part 2 both use the YoYo Compiler from GMS2 so you can't edit the game's code as it's already embedded into the executable. You can only change the sounds and sprites in those. I couldn't view the files of DD 2.0 though for some reason. The kickstarter demo didn't have limitations like that so if you have a build of it laying around you can mess around with the code of it with the Undertale Mod Tool. Same goes for DD 1.0 and Part 2, though like I said, only sprites and sounds can be changed.
@@strawbrryspirit yeah i kinda assume there'll prob be health upgrades in the final game, and 6 might be like the max amount of health there
@@Victini7472 iirc the Life with Anton/Dynamite Demo trailer had a snippet showing Anton with one extra health card in the Tallbuster boss fight, so that might be the case in the end

You can see how things changed with anton’s moveset after pizza tower coming out, it all became alot more fast paced. I’m not saying its ripping off from pizza tower though, because while it does become a bit more speed oriented, they have their own way of keeping it distinct and different (clutching and the hammer-clutch)
That, and the combo meter being more similar to that game's starting with the first Dynamite Demo, though here it doesn't seem to affect anything other than your score on top of also being increased by breaking stuff like crates. Oh, and the same stock sound effect used for Lap 2 in PT is used for getting a x100+ combo here.

The HUD in the game consists of cards and a slot machine as well as the collectibles being arcade chips, suits pretty well imo
Glad they got rid of the score noise because that would have driven me insane

Nvm, figured it out. On Switch it's the R Key and on PC it's the Chip Key I am pretty sure.
@@RammansPizzas By default it's the right shoulder button on controller and the Chip key (by default E) on keyboard
The things I miss for the other demos were things they didn't have to change...
Like Anton's "walking" cycle from the 1st demo, his original laugh and the one I understand the less. The rainbow sprite trace... Damn they were so cool and made the background sections so much easier by saying "hey those Antons are not the one you looking for" (undirectly): Even for people who aren't used to games like this, could understand they need to get an eye on Anton. Now with this green, red and white traces Idk what I'm looking at...
And also I think it was cool to break the checkpoints... Hell they'd could've been a mechanic. Like "if you break the toll you won't get a checkpoint, but you'll have extra points", the game is all about gambling so, why not?
The checkpoint system in the demo is not final and still a WIP. I'm sure they'll cook something up with it in the actual release November 12th.

@@deimianhere9112update: as of pax west demo checkpoints are breakable again, but they dont seem to give you any extra points
Not gonna lie, i kinda preferred the tornado that anton made when spinning along with the old bricks, but i can get behind the new bricks.
I hope there’s a control toggle to change the stomp back to down on the d pad
Probably not, since the antomic bomb is much more committing compared to the hammer slam. It's mapped to the rightmost face button only because you wouldn't want to accidentally misinput it.
