Not to hate but I really wouldn’t compare this to avicii. Completely different genre and level
Efrain Entrertainment sorry bro, but to me it resonates and justifies to why it reminds me of Avicii because he was the first DJ who clashed country vocalist with his EDM production/beats. I know Avicii is more of the progressive house DJ, but this song by The Chainsmokers is more or an EDM-pop song. However, they still incorporate country vocalists and instruments that give me that Avicii vibe. I miss Avicii and this song commemorates him to me 👼🏼 Respect your opinion though.

MY INTERPRETATION OF THIS SONG & VIDEO: This Feeling means to live life with no regrets. Hence, why it's a dare-devil and go-getter type of theme with the dirt bikes 🚴 When they say, "they tell me think with my head, not that thing in my chest" means people often hesitate when they want to do something causing them to hold back. From a psychologists point of view, people base their actions off of emotions from their heart which kind of refrains them from achieving things, and then there are people who think with their heads who achieve things without no hesitation and they don't give any f*cks about what people think nor do they conform to society. Overall, they live freely. Also, people will be perceived as worthless, but if they think with their heads and not that thing in their chest, looks can be deceiving and you may never know your greatest potential unless you stop basing your actions off your emotions from your heart. You can look so innocent, but people will never know your dare-devilish side. Idk if that makes any sense, but just wanted to help you with my interpretation. Thus, the dirt bikes are a quite representation of freewill. But at the end it shows that they crashed, which shows that sometimes being too much of an extremist can cost you. There is a constant battle between thinking with your heart and head which becomes so conflictive. Also, when Drew yell, "I SAY NOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!" and the mirror shatters I start to feel this frustrated vibe that sometimes things don't go as planned, but as long as you're still alive you got to keep trying. Ultimately, the show and your life goes on. In addition, it can also be perceived as a love song. There's this girl who hesitates about asking out a guy she likes, but she hesitates and bases her actions off of her emotions through her heart. She holds back, but her friends tell her to stop thinking with her heart and just go ask him out and get him without any hesitation by using her head. She's very iffy about it and self-conscious, insecure, but she learns to start using her head to make decisions because when you listen to your heart, it doesn't yield successful results. Kelsea Ballerini is that girl who learns to be a go-getter to get that cute boy she likes. "They got their hands at my neck" means that people are going to be frustrated with you no matter what you decide to do with your life. That line seems like their friends are so frustrated with them that they want to strangle them. "My friends say Nooooo-nooooooo. They don't know" means there will be friends who completely don't understand or agree with your happiness, decisions, thrills, or you in general in your life. Be on the lookout for those who are jealous of you and backstabbers. Lastly, my last interpretation is Kelsea Ballerini surrounds herself with dare devils who teaches her to overcome her fears. She transitions from this innocent & pure soul but eventually becomes the person she surrounds herself with. With the scene of all the guys on the dirt bikes surrounding her, she eventually becomes them, but at the end it costed all of them because they crashed. (Not too sure if they survived or just got injured). This signifies why sometimes people who love and care for you are impacted by every risky decision you make. "It's my fault when it ends" means they completely take ownership and responsibility for all of their actions. Ultimately, all my reasoning can be counter-justified for each reasoning. I wish there was a part 2 to this video and song because it was so good! AN UNDERRATED CHAINSMOKERS SONG THAT NEEDS TO BLOW UP! 🔥

Here's my fan theory on the video's meaning: Each character has two storylines that are distinguished by their clothes.
Kelsea: in the black jacket is her as a ghost; Kelsea in the white motocross suit is the story of her fatal motocross accident.
Supporting lyric evidence: "We all got expectations (white) / but sometimes they go wrong (black)."
Drew & Alex: in motocross suits are their memories of that night.
Drew in the dirt wearing a white shirt: He walks away from the accident but never told Kelsea's character that he had feelings for her.

Not defending chainsmoker but thats not how it works? Like when you listen to an artist just by the sound/music of it you figure out who's song it is. For example Empire of the sun, Muse. Each have different style and thats what they are famous for. Maybe I'm wrong.
