I played upwards of 1500hrs on my Astro 50's in the span of 2 years and I had no problems with them ever, they didn't hurt my head whatsoever after 5-6hr sessions, I used to love listening to music on them on the background on my pc. Spectacular headset I had them for 2-3 years before then sold them a 2 years ago but I'm getting back into gaming and I just wanted to do my due diligence to see if they have been surpassed but I'm happy to see they're still a good choice.
Stay away from astros. Nothing but problems. Love the ear cup comfort and the sound, but having to hard reset them every time I use them is a pain. Friends constantly complain about my mic cutting out. Half the time they don't connect to the base station. Or they won't charge over night due to the tiny connector prongs. When it works it's great, but it's been nothing but headaches as of late. Not worth the $300+ for a headset.
I'm getting the MMX 330 tomorrow, and I'm excited. Your review made me pull the trigger. I'm heavily into competitive gaming and besides the ability to pinpoint footsteps, another big plus for me is the lower latency compared to wireless. I'm coming from a SteelSeries Arctis 7P so I'm hoping for a nice upgrade in sound quality.
Can you provide feedback on this review after testing ? Especially in relation to the open side. I'm interested to know how well external sounds (keyboard, fan) can be heard. Also to know if it's really accurate on competitive FPS.
@poussin404 I've tested it with one evening of Overwatch 2. It's been really great so far! When I focused on it, I could hear my PC fans. I only tried this when I thought about it during my last round, which tells me that it's a non-issue since I actively had to focus on it and did not notice it prior during regular play. OW2 is not a demanding game and my fans are not hard at work and at a constant level, which probably helps. I noticed a big improvement in hearing footsteps over my Arctis 7P, but not so much in the directional sense (which is still great), but I almost had a feeling I was able to pick up detailed sounds from farther away (thus quicker). Even in chaotic moments. Absolutely and advantage. Compared with the fact that the thing is built like a tank but still light and comfortable, I am extremely happy with my purchase.
@poussin404 Couldn't be happier. It's built like a tank but light and comfortable. It sounds fantastic. One giant bonus due to the open design that I only realized once I used it: I can hear my own voice when I speak, as in a 'natural sidetone'. I was used to hearing myself through the mic, but this is so much better. I could hear my PC fans, but I only realized once I paid attention to it. During regular play, it's so quiet that it's a non-issue... but that is partly to the fact that my main game Overwatch 2 isn't resource heavy and won't make my PC sweat.
As of November 16, the Logitech g435 is on sale for only 37.00 (regular price 80.00) on Amazon. Solid headset and mic is much better than reviews mention.
Would be awesome if they made a a50 g5 wired. I have been mainly using the corsair virtuoso pro with a steelseries gamedac gen2 most of this year. I really like the sound of it. Never tried a open back before. I thought it would be lacking on bass being a openback, possibly more than any steelseries. But to my surprise, they can get deep with the right eq & not lose any clarity at all through high volume. The headset can be had for as low as $90 refurbished direct from corsair. I ordered a backup last week because I like the headset so much.
Just got the Turtle Beach Stealth 700 gen 3 and I gotta tell ya I'm pretty happy. It was those, or the HyperX Cloud 3's. I'm surprised for newer hardware they weren't on the list.
Hello, good video! I don't know which of these to choose, could you advise me? cloud 3, cloud stinger 2 wireless, razer blackshark v2 x, and the redragon zeus x h510 which would you choose for gaming and music! thank you!
Dont bother with blackshark v2, they are snapping on the band to cuff link constantly... gone through 2 pairs.. and this last one lasted 1 month (i dont throw my headset around)
Goin with the logitech gpro 2 mainly cause i had the first version and by far has been the best headset ive ever had and i wanna see how big of an upgrade the new ones are
Bro...I have watched most of your videos and they all are great with honest reviews from you. really appreciate that. Currently I'm looking for a headset under $100 and it should have great bass and planning to listen to music as well other than gaming. What is the best in your opinion? help....
If you can wait until Black Friday/Cyber Monday, the Astro A40 regularly goes on sale for under $100, but right now it's at standard price. It has the best bass of any gaming headset under $100 by far. The HyperX Cloud Alpha can work if you apply enough EQ, but I'd try to hold out for that A40!
if the maxwells didnt have constant popping and crakling drivers, i'd order them again. returned them because almost pop my ear drums with the constant crackles. too bad, because the sound is amazing

For players planning to buy and hoard gaming headsets worth $300+ x5 pcs, just buy HD800S, Audeze (heavy), or Hifiman Arya. Use Rode or Shure mic then period. I tried several gaming headsets and most of those were sounded like crap, just get Astro 50, Sony or Audio Technica headphones instead.

Bout to get me a pair of H6Pro!!! Killer deals right now and only going to get better come Black Friday!!! They're both literally Sennheiser's! You should at least rate them with the caveat they quit making gaming headphones as they're better than 3/4 of your list!

70$ for the cloud 3 is just unbeatable.
I went with the Rog Delta 2 headset and I am more than satisfied with them. The mic is better than previous reviews.
I swear by the Astro A50s. A bit expensive and not the greatest battery but sound quality/mic quality and product quality are incredible
Just in time! Yesterday my headset broke and I was thinking about looking for videos to get the best option, thanks man ❤

Which is best for ps5?
So for ps5 u pretty much need the a50x not the gen5 .. becuase u cant use game chat mix
What about Turtle Beach Atlas Air ?
Best ps5 headset for wireless?
Cloud III Wireless... 120$ on sale, just top.
Definitely a great deal! I'd get it
why does some of those mice sounds better than ur SHURE ?? either that or its severly badly tuned
My new recording environment is not ideal, so I had to use AMD Sound Suppression on it for this video. Didn't use it for the headset mics though.
