This is part 1 of my trip to the Austin record convention. Bought and sold some good rare records, made some contacts. A good time was had by all.

you describe the clientele at record shows perfectly....
True dat.
I'm in the UK,just discovered your channel, and you are fantastic! Stuff the vinyl, you could make a million doing voiceovers! Keep on keeping on Fellah!
Nice to hear you mention Hemsby, as I live in Great Yarmouth, where I run a recording studio. If you're ever back here, you should swing by. I've got a few Ampex 601s, a pair of those Ampex 620 speakers, and lots of vintage mics and tape machines. :)
Really enjoyed the vid. Best wishes from the u.k 👍
Love to visit there, might be playing some shows there in 2020
So interesting, informative and entertaining
Many thanks, my friend!!!
I've met some kool dudes and some kool freaks!
Great, great page...
Looking forward to part 2
Tomorrow early afternoon
3.30 in the morning, what fun.
Killer!!
Good to see what the latest Record Show looked like. I was tempted to go, and one of these years I will. I still have friends that live in Austin. I wondered if you'd been to any of the Tyler shows, as I remember a dealer here that handled some of the type things you were looking for: 78s, 45s, etc. I didn't know that Cabela allow one to camp/sleep on their parking lot. That's good to know. I did a search on allstays.com and it appears there are other areas as well.
There's a great app I use on my phone, shows all the rest areas, Walmart lots, etc.
Looks like it was a fun trip!! I live in Houston, but never been to the Austin show
I camped in my Element during quarantine and had a blast. Wish mine had a sunroof!
I used to hit the record shows here in Western Michigan until about 2020. The last one I attended was all lp's and cd's , with basically no 45's. It was a wasted trip. Being a 45 collector ( at the time ), the only place I was finding any 45's was flea markets, junk stores and garage sales. And 95% of the time, those 45's were trashed and not worth the time.
King Records. I never seen blue ones. But only the red ones. Do blue and red color labels have any significance? I have a very worn 78 of Cowboy Copas. Tennessee Flat Guitar.
Not sure, but I think it was to distinguish genres
My Friend mack...!!!!
Howdy Walter!
You should definitely look for Carl Trantham - Deedle Deedle Dum I highly recommend
I spoke with him about 30 years ago, nice guy!! I've had his 2 classic 45s, wow!
@@IBuyOldRecords That's very awesome thanks
Hi Mack! :D // Mr ABBOTT
Yeah, record buyer’s stoop, it’s called ! Or backache.
How do I purchase your 78s?
