@@CrossingMinute you could potentially use the tree standee DIY, palm tree DIY or the illuminated tree, plus there's the mushroom parasols there's a few options your world would look very kidcore 🍄😊

@@CrossingMinute The yellow bin in resident services sometimes has flowers and saplings, even though you aren't crafting, I think that'd be better for the challenge.

This is awesome. I’ve seen a similar challenge in Sims 4. Furnishing your house with only crafted items. I can’t wait to see the finished island. ❤

you don't need the museum upgraded. I've seen people's islands in dream addresses with just the tent for esthetic reasons. You just can't move it.
Ah ok didn't know you couldn't move the tent museum. I've seen folks decorate around it in all kinds of cool ways so I always assumed they were able to move it around. 😅

I'm confused what's the point of the video calls I can't tell if it's a joke and trying to be funny or if it's being mean, I'm just generally curious 🤔
The calls are me asking TH-camrs to tour the island because that's one of my goals.

Amiibos card villagers give you DIY's when you have them visit your campsite. That's a great way to get a bunch of different DIY's early in the game if you have some cards!
I love that the best strategy for the "don't buy anything" challenge is to actually spend real life money on real world cards.
I have to think that cardboard box, books, magazines, cushions, document stack, and other things that are an ingredient in a DIY counts as a crafting supply. Looking forward to the challenge.
So excited for this series! Also a thought about the cardboard boxes: technically there are recipes that use them (cardboard bed, table, etc), so they could count as a crafting material, I think? Assuming you find cardboard recipes…

Lol, them teasing you about "stealing" their idea is kind of moot because I've been watching mori mushi already do a 30 day DIY only challenge that she named "back to basics" and started 2 months ago 😆 (she doesn't post daily so that's why it's been 2 months for her 30 day challenge so far haha)

For quick diys, you can time travel to the morning, midday and afternoon. Each segment of the day, one of your villagers will be crafting a diy in their house!

Cool challenge! I also once thought about it, but I do not want to give up my island. Of course I could just replace everything on my island with DIY-alternatives, but I just don't want to do that.
And yes, you can have a 5 star island without museum. Just place a lot of flowers, fences, furniture and all ten villagers.

Don't forget the cardboard boxes are needed to craft the cardboard furniture. And what about items like books for the bookshelves etc. I assume you're allowing yourself to buy those items?

Hi, I am new here, enjoyed your video, I love these challanges. However you can keep blathers in a tent and still get a 5 star rating. I did on my forestcore island.
Can the cardboard boxes not be classed as a forageable as there are furniture DIYs with them? And what about books for example, can they be kept to craft the tiny library?

What are you going to do about DIYs that require bought items as materials? Like the bookshelf needs you to have books. So it’s a DIY but you can’t collect the items…
Maybe make an exception for things like that 😅
