Beware of Scammer! There's someone in the comments pretending to be me. Winners of snack packs are always listed in the video descriptions, not in the comments.
Every time he gets sandwiches from their vending machine I end up craving a sandwich!!! And typically I don’t eat them very often…I don’t eat bread that often, period. I will; however, be getting a tuna salad sandwich today from a local store that sells just the best sandwiches in my area. They are a tiny convenience type store/gas station and they have a small food counter inside the store. They make the best chili con Carne and sandwiches. I hope you also have a good day and maybe make yourself or buy yourself a delicious sandwich to bring in the new year! 😂✌🏻💕😊
Always love the vending machine videos, The vintage machines are my favorite. I like how there was just a little bit of cabbage on the cutlet & cheese sandwich, just enough. It made me smile when the ladies came out and said your name and thanked you. What a great feeling you must have had. I know it made me feel good.
The ladies at the sandwich machine were so sweet. It's really nice to see that the proprietress is watching your videos too, and you being so complimentary after. Very nice exchange, thanks for sharing.
Isn’t that the truth. I went to culinary school and worked actively as a chef for years and when ever I needed ideas for plating I would google Japanese techniques. Their presentation is second to none. I know that for some reason French cuisine is looked at for the goal in plating and I still do not know why!!?? The only thing I can figure is that it’s for people who don’t like to use more than one dish for their plating and Japan definitely doesn’t let that stop them from making their plating choices!!!! I also worked as a pastry chef on my “off hours” - as I also took the pastry courses in culinary school (a few years later) and I do look to Japan for playing ideas, but I get more inspiration about my sweets/pastries from French cuisine. As Japan isn’t very big into super sweet desserts and snacks. ✌🏻😃
That was cool that the ladies knew you and thanked you for featuring their sandwiches in your videos. How sweet of them! As usual, everything looked amazing
I always love it when they are packed in card boxes and not plastic, Japan seems to support this far more than some other countries. Great video again Eric.
I don't think I've ever seen soup in a vending machine video before! Very cool. Made me smile that the sandwich ladies know and love you! Thanks again, Eric, for taking us along with you!
Every time a video posts it makes me want to travel to Japan so bad! The cuisine, the culture, the atmosphere, truly is on my bucket list. I love how you also got recognized going to your favorite sandwich vending machine. I bet it made their day seeing you.
That was so great seeing the ladies recognize you and appreciate that you mention their sandwiches. It was really interesting how the can was warm for the soup. The corn soup was the one I would have been most excted to try as well. Looking forward to Part 2!
I just finished breakfast, but now I wish there were some vending machines with food available at work. There is just something fun associated with eating food from a machine!
For sure!!! Before I retired I worked in the lockbox of a bank…it was my second job, because it was an overnight shift and I was a chef for years - not a lot of money to be made as a chef, unfortunately. Anyway, the bank was in a rather famous city in Pennsylvania and it had the best vending machines!! They had a cafeteria for the two day shifts, but not for graveyard. So the company installed several vending machines that had all the same types of food sold in the cafeteria. We had a hot foods machine which sold soups, chili, ramen, hot sandwiches and pasta dishes. We had a couple cold machines that sold cold sandwiches, fruit, pudding, cold soba w/dipping soup and a other items that would change occasionally/seasonally. We had a machines specifically for desserts - it had cake, pie, parfaits and other pastries. And of course we had a couple snack machines with chips and the like. And last; but not least, they had a hot beverage vending machine and a cold beverage vending machine. I would buy my “lunch” from the machines once a week as a treat for myself. The rest of the time I packed my “lunch” as it would have been expensive to buy from the machines every day. I just wish that variety of vending was available all over the US, like it is in Japan. Because even though it was expensive to eat from daily (in my opinion) it was still much cheaper than going to a fast food place and the quality of food is much better than McDonald’s or some other awful crap. 😂 ✌🏻😃
@@melissadunton3534 Same here - I used to work in a research building many years ago and same - we had some hot and cold beverage machines and some food machines with real food (burgers, sandwiches, soups - usually 5 different things at the most). But if I was working late, I would treat myself to a hot soup and a cappuccino out of the vending machine - it was not more than maybe $3, but what a treat. I miss those machines!
@@usualfulful they are nice machines to have available to the workers. Especially on overnight shifts. My favorite was a hot roast beef sandwich with Swiss cheese on a pretzel roll. It was only $3 as well, but that adds up if you use the machines every day, so I’d stick to once a week or those times that I forgot to bring food or was running late. It was nice to know that I wouldn’t end up hungry when that happened and that the machines were available. ✌🏻😃
Can't wait to go back to Japan and explore the small neighborhood like this. I'm looking for this sandwich vending machine on my next trip ! They look so yum!!
The ladies running the Deri Hana Hana have found a way to attract customers to their catering business. Usually if you want to get a caterer, you’ll tend to go with one whose food you’ve already sampled. Much success to them!
