What a film, now one of my favourites ever, songs are just brilliant. I’m glad I saw the film before I heard the songs here, couldn’t take my eyes off of the screen! Oscars all round!!!
I used to have a manny (a male nanny) who was a family friend and we LOVED this movie and used to shout at each other “NEVER NEVER” all the time. He recently passed this April.

"The Greatest Showman" has been nominated for a best picture Golden Globe, and "This is Me" has been nominated for best original song. Hugh Jackman has also been nominated for a best actor Golden Globe. Let's just hope that this movie gets even more nominations for the Oscars. It's a really good film, already receiving a best picture nomination. It's the only musical film nominated for best picture.
This year, Pasek & Paul won the best original song Golden Globe & Oscar for "City of Stars" (La La Land), Only "City of Stars" was nominated for the Golden Globes, but 2 Pasek & Paul songs were nominated for best original song at the Oscars. So I'm still hoping that "Never Enough" will get a best original song Oscar nomination in addition to "This is Me."
Why did they wait so late to release "Never Enough" on social media? I think it would've also gotten a nomination for best original song if it was released earlier like "This is Me." This song is much more beautiful than the other 4 nominees.
There definitely would've been a lot more buzz about "Never Enough" if it had been released earlier. It's definitely worthy of a Golden Globe & Oscar nomination. So are most of the songs on this soundtrack. There's no doubt that "The Greatest Showman" will be the best selling movie soundtrack. You can take that to the bank.

I have an issue with the way was used in the movie. When I found out that it was Loren whom actually was the singer. Why didn't they just cast her! They did not need Rebecca Ferguson. I feel this movie was about the underdogs. But I guess Loren was "not enough" ironically enough.

I just realized something about this scene in the movie. I wouldn't call this a spoiler but just in case I'll put my comment below.
When I was watching the movie I thought they kept focusing on his wife staring at him and back to Jenny because she was thinking he was in love with Jenny but it hit me the other day that NO, she is realizing that the song is her husband. The lyrics fit him perfectly and it is hitting her that his ambition is taking over, she is losing her husband and her daughters are losing their father to his ambitions. She is really thinking that nothing will ever be enough for him to just be happy.

You're right, and many of the songs from the film are Oscar worthy thanks to Pasek & Paul and excellent vocalists like Loren Allred, Keala Settle, Michelle Williams, & Zendaya. However, "This is Me" is the top show-stopper, and "Never Enough" is the most beautiful song of the film. They're my favorites. Regardless of my personal preference, I say "This is Me" will get a nomination, and any of 5 other songs will get the 2nd Oscar nomination from "Greatest Showman." It sucks that this film is only limited to 2 nominees for best original song.

Listen, with great upbeat numbers like "This is Me" and "Come Alive", of course people were "butt-dancing" in their seats. They wanted to get up and dance like me, and were trying to restrain themselves. The cinematography for the "Never Enough" scene was breathtaking, and it's a beautiful song. That's why people settled down. It's a slower tempo song.

Those songs, as well as From Now On made me almost dance and sing at the top of my lungs... but Never Be Enough actually made me tear up.. something I've never done since seeing the Disney version of Tarzan as an adult.. even know when writing this comment and listening to the music, mouthing the lyrics.. my eyes are getting misty.. My daughter wanted to see this. I don't like musicals but i thought whatever, i can munch some popcorn and chill out for 2 hours. But i was surprised, i loved it. The opening scene is like "BOOM" this is gonna be different. Good story, good dancing, good songs. This song was my favourite, great voice.

Thank you so much for posting this. I really needed it, because I thought she was singing "believe" instead of "for me." The lyrics are simple but so profound, beautiful, poetic, romantic, & moving...and the orchestration? Just totally beautiful and perfect. I think this song would have worked wonderfully in La La Land as well. For those of us who are artists, singers, actors, writers, etc., we can relate so well to Pasek & Paul's music, and we feel their lyrics more than anyone. Lord, do they inspire me! I'm in love with P&P, and the romance continues.

She has a beautiful voice, but I'm just in awe of Pasek & Paul's beautiful music and lyrics in this song. Like Michelle Williams said, there's nothing that P&P can't do.

Pasek & Paul knew Keala Settle for 5 years when they were in NY, prior to bringing her to LA for this film. Were they already acquainted with Loren Allred? I know that they had great input in selecting the major actors for this movie. So, if I'm understanding correctly, why was Loren Allred's singing voice dubbed in for Rebecca Ferguson? I thought Rebecca was a classically trained singer from Sweden. I assume that Rebecca was unable to cut the mustard in the singing department. If that's the case, she should've been replaced by Loren Allred, but is Loren a trained actress?

Yes, Loren definitely worked with Pasek & Paul before. I just looked her up. She's wonderful. I try to avoid comparing artists, as they all have their own styles of singing, and each is unique. However, I can't resist saying that I'm reminded of Linda Eder in this particular song, one of my very favorite singers ever. However, Loren appears to be the type of singer that can perform many genres of music. She's definitely versatile. Loren, like Keala Settle, sings from the depth of her soul. That's what they have in common. They won't be unknown after this movie.
Guys, if you have a theater near you that is showing this movie, please watch it again n again if you can.
Critics are tearing this movie apart, thinking it was not realistic enough, but being realistic was never the point of this movie.
What im saying is, this movie needs all the support it can have.

This is the best song in the whole movie. If you love being transported into an escapist movie musical...emphasis on MUSIC....just go see it. You won't regret it.

In fact, the soundtrack for "The Greatest Showman" has already catapulted to #5 on the top 200 albums Billboard charts. It'll reach #1, as projected. It's the first film soundtrack to climb the Billboard charts since "50 Shades Darker" in March, 2017.
i usually dont look musicals, lala land i find good but not every music i that film touched me, but this is something different.. amazing, have to look it again!!.. and hugh jackman from a perfect acting in Logan to perfect acting in Greatest Showman.. the greatest actor!!

Truly Charlotte I’m afraid this won’t be nominated because they perform the songs at the oscars. I don’t think they will reveal (although they did in print) the person behind the voice. I was a huge fan of this is me, but this song is outrageously great.
The singer is Loren Allred. Unfortunately, "Never Enough" was released too late on social media and was even overlooked by the Golden Globes. If it had been released much earlier on social media like "This is Me", it probably would have gotten a lot more buzz and probably a nomination.

This movie really deserves multiple Oscar nominations for best original song. Two sure bets are "This is Me" and this song. If Pasek & Paul don't win the Oscar for best musical score as well, I'll burn down Hollywood myself.
danielleaparis they usually don’t give best score to musicals. There is talk of reinstating the best musical score category i.e. honoring full musical score that aren’t just instrumental. Fingers crossed.
Lonell, Justin Hurwitz won the best original musical score Oscar for La La Land last February. Now it's Pasek & Paul's turn to win it.
Also before anyone asks, Justin Hurwitz and his partner were hired to compose the music for La La Land. However, they asked Pasek & Paul to write the lyrics for 2 songs, "City of Stars" and "Audition." It just so happened that those were the only 2 songs from La La land that were nominated for best original song. Of course, "City of Stars" won. Without Pasek & Paul, La La land wouldn't have won the best original song Oscar.

And the original song category only allows for a maximum of 2 songs per film to be nominated. Pasek and Paul deserve accolades for this entire collection.

Beautiful as this song is, it's also a warning - both Barnum and Jenny came from humble beginnings and could "never get enough" of acclaim and outside approval until it nearly destroyed them
Definitely, I was awed by the voice when I watched the movie but after carefully reading the lyrics it really shows how despite everything they have achieved it would never be enough for them. Which makes me appreciate this movie even more. The soundtracks are amazing

In real life, Jenny was humble, stayed private and away from people (even Barnum on their tour together) and did a lot of charity work. She was not a temptress and NEVER messed with Barnum -- who, on the other hand, abused and exploited the people that worked for him.

This song is so beautifully composed. I saw an interview that said she was lip-syncing, but she did it so well and you could not tell at all. This song makes me so emotional, especially the one towards the end. I think that it was so amazing and I like how it went with PT’s mindset, and how he kept wanting to give more and more to his family and never stopped proving that he was worth so much more. I have watched this movie multiple times, and will continue to!! It’s by far one of my favorite movies of all time, and all of the songs are so beautiful and I can’t pick a favorite!! If you haven’t seen it yet, you need to!
