Thanks for sharing her story! I feel bad for her. Even after her death she was still used as a "political sacrifice" due to the animosity between Dorgon and Shunzhi Emperor. Anyway what disgusted me was Daishan ate her food but ended up forming the pact that ordered her to sacrifice. Ugggh 🤮

wow, as I said before in other comments looks like Nara girls have hards life's or were polemic by their times in Qing dinasty..... poor girls I believe she was only trying to be nice and that was the perfect excuse to ruin her, thank you for sharing this story is good to know more about her. I hope she at least rest in peace

In Hmong culture, we also practice Window inheritance. Not so much in the US. But I think it's still common in Laos, Thailand, Vietnam, and China.

Widow inheritance wasn’t much popular in ancient Han Chinese, but popular in many minorities. 😀

Abahai got married to a 40 year old man when she was 11? 🤢 And the fact that she quickly became his favorite just gets me queasy, I can imagine what that implies. 😭 Wouldn’t it be considered taboo though? Even for the standards in those days?

Abahai was definitely assassinated for political reasons. A person of her status definitely was beyond human sacrifice. Will you be doing a video about the harem system of Early Jin?

@@vishnukanagalingam1991 well records say that was pretty similar to what it was in Qing and kinda like it was Ming, I guess there were many womens and the titles were not that strict, similar to what a prince of Qing would have but kinda of bigger, you know one primary consort, some secondary consorts and many geges or concubines, in this video we hear that there were 8 high Ranked consorts that could eat with the Khan so that give us a clue, in Ming there were many concubines and some consorts besides the empress, the title were not that strict actually a gui FEI and a Huang GUI fei had basically the same power and living conditions what was important was the place that women occupies in the emperor's heart

This Story was better as the Book Game of Thron´s00.
But I agree with you, that Abahai was killing and not sacrifice herself. She was to strong for some people.
The Clan Ula Nara stand for Drama in Qing Dynasty !
But I Think the Qing was from the beginning to The end a Dynastie their had more then one Time to Chance China to a better Place. But the fight about Power their make more or less mistakes. :/

She was an important lady in early Qing dynasty. Sacrifice was used as an excuse in her case because her political rival including her stepsons (especially Hong Taiji) wanted to gain the power then forced her to commit suicide with 2 other concubines while the restl of Nurhaci hadn't have the same fate as she had.
So I think it's just a political game

This poor woman was raked over the coals even after death. Please tell me women are not treated like this in China today

So sad to tell you. In some areas, I mean in today’s China, women ware treated worse. Several months ago, there is a news that a wamen was locked by iron chain and gave birth at least eight kids. I can’t believe this happened in modern time. And the government did nothing for it. 😡😡😡😡

@@ancientchinesehistorychannel :( About 10 years ago there was a case in Germany where the father locked his daughter in the basement and fathered 12 children with her.
She managed to escape because her father was inattentive.
The cruel thing was that some of her children lived with their father and the others had to stay with her.
You this happen in the West World too.

The step empress is not necessarily from Ulanara, they don't know for sure. it's either nara, hoifa nara or ulanara but since she's been deleted from history, there's no way of knowinbg. Her father, Narbu, is said to be of Hoifa Nara tho

Yup. It seems like the Ula-Nara women were cursed when it came to being married off to the Qing Emperor. Abahai got assassinated, Empress Xiaojingxian’s son died at 8 years old, and Empress Nara died of tuberculosis & is erased from history.
