- kind of an annoying fight, I would imagine you can be fancier and punish more of his attacks, but this wasn't something I felt like wasting time and patience for hahaha, not big on hit scan bullshit and when he has his shotgun the variation of his shots can really mess up your dodge timing. Nope!

@@ichiban9662 Lao Gui in the Chinese version of Yakuza 0 had his face replaced with a famous Chinese actor, so he kinda looked like somebody's uncle

Andre Richardson is probably Albert Wesker's brother perhaps since he is possibly in his 50's and Wesker is like 49, both Resident Evil 5 and Yakuza 3 (JP) were released in 2009, they also take place in the timeline 2009 events as well.

And come to think of it, they did made a Yakuza : Resident Evil style game !

Of all the gunman bosses in the games, I like him the most. Compared to MOST of the gunmen bosses in the Yakuza series who runs around like a pussy, he doesnt do any of that kiting nonsense. He takes all your hits like a man. Plus he's capable of fighting bare-handed without his guns.
It helps that in Yakuza 3 gunshots don't instantly knock you down
Him and Lao Gui are my favorites bosses who uses guns

i dont remember if it's 100% true, but if the only gunman bosses that dont run from you are chinese and american, imagine what that says about the japanese lol
I remember being surprised when I heard a character speak english. It felt weird because I was so used to japanse from 0 to kiwami 2 up to this point.

I like the fact Richardson and Kiryu speak two different language but somehow they understand each other
Kiryu didn’t exactly understand what Richardson was saying
He heard the word "Daigo" and saw him point upward and guessed that Daigo was on the roof. That's all.
I think Richardson understands kiryu because kiryu says " if I want to get up there, I'll need to go through you" in Japanese and Andre said " you're welcome to try" so andre clearly knows what kiryu is saying.

@@ashikjaman1940 Well, to be fair, you can understand a language and not be really able to speak it, so it's possible that he can't really speak it or his spoken Japanese would be very broken.
There’s definitely a difference when you use the payback ring with low health, not huge by any means but it’s there

Everyone is asking how Kiryu and André understand each other. Well, you don't fully have to understand a foreign language to communicate. When Kiryu mentioned Daigo, André pointed towards the roof. Simple.
People are so dumb, he said Daigo and pointed upwards, its a basic inference.
Plus, Kiryu prob knows a little of english. Not enough to have a conversation, but some basics

In the original when he says, "when first we met" the subtitles jsut say when we first met. In this they corrected it to when first we met. Kinda funny how the guy must've read it wrong originally.
Reminds me on how near the beginning of the first Ni No Kuni game, the kid who plays Oliver says “But what about *you* car”. It caught me completely off guard and ponder how this went past the recording booth, but it’s also that enjoyable mistranslation error you rarely see in games now. Also, the actor was a kid at the time so I can’t blame him much for that misread.

If they ever give 3 the Kiwami treatment, I hope Richardson becomes a Kuze-like character that you encounter and fight at multiple points of the story, each becoming harder, before a final conclusion at the end.
You already encounter him at the beginning of the game, but no dialogue is exchanged and he fights you alongside his goons instead of a stand-alone fight.

The thing with the story though is that they're trying to hide that the CIA squad is actually black monday and the blonde dude is actually Andre Richardson. So they'd have to rewrite the story so that you can somehow have epic fights with him without making it too obvious that he's Richardson.
I wish the objective was "GET TO THE TOP" instead of "GO TO THE ROOF". That'd be epic.

Canzah crazy, I thought his VA was a Japanese dude who learned English. Richardson was supposed to be American, however, you’ll never hear “when first we met”. It’s always “when we first me”

There's a side mission in the game where Kiryu learns English.
MegiDolaDyne Only barely of it to a injury-faking foreigner, at the end of that side mission (if you picked the wrong dialogue for Kiryu to say), he said that he shoulda read more of the Learn To Speak English book

I'm sure you've figured it out by now, but ishin isn't canon to yakuza, it's a spinoff based on historical events so no glover is not related but in my head canon, they're all related to their lookalikes.
