- Many find the diesel subsidy rationalisation which saw the lifting of the blanket subsidy as a surprise and urge the government to ensure smooth implementation.
Meanwhile, food and beverage operators are taking a wait-and-see approach to potentially raising prices depending on the impact of the diesel prices being floated.

Like it or not, subsidies for fossil fuels should be reduced or even abolished, considering the fact it consumes 70% of our national annual subsidy, worsens climate change and mostly benefits big oil.

Not just food and goods. Construction and new property prices will also increase. Because, the subsidy is not enough for the construction cement truck and hardware suppliers and contractors. Hardware maintenance supplier who dont qualify for subsidy, will increase prices..which in turn, increase price to oil palm factory producing customer or food production manufacturer.. ultimately, price will increase for sure.
All the while malaysia producing oil and sell to other country. Apparently, Minister comparing past and present. Rm1500 fuel allowance still given to Minister which is T20. What a big lie to rakyat malaysia.😇

Its not about PH..in 2022, PN also tries to do the same thing but failed bcs they scared of losing voter..in 2013 govt pay only Rm 3Billion..in 2023 Govt pay Rm 60billion subsidi..you tell me which govt love too pay Rm60billion subsidy? govt are losing money Rm60b every year..Rm60b can help the poor..

This is inevitable. Those who comment against have no idea how bad excessive subsidy to the country. You are talking about RM10+ bil per year and no money for other things like healthcare. Isn't that stupid? I suggest Malaysians wake up and adjust to this i.e. take more public transport and encourage more hybrid/remote work, but, I think RON95 increase which seems to be likely start this year will be more gradual.
How much subsidy does the logistics companies have? How the government can confirm the logistics companies will not increase the transportation cost in the coming future.

Whatever has been said all these while still we cannot deny the fact that this govt has failed to eleviate the hardship faced by the poor rakyat generally.This is despite all the rhetoric and denials put forward by the planners ..who rightfull hope and expect that the rakyat will eventually come to terms with the new additional hardship as 'reality' and continue voting for the same parties again.This is consistant wth the innate nature of most people who tend to be inclined to allow themselves to'suffer' for convenience sake.And this is how the world gavitate towards its own demise..eventually.

This need to be done to reflect the true cost of petrol/diesel consumption. Now what we want is for the government to direct the saving towards helping those really in need of assistance with better public facilities eg. transport, school, hospitals etc.

Removal of subsidies is a bitter pill. Our economy has been aided for so many years. The government is unable to do it anymore. As matured citizens, we should understand the long term benefits to the nation and people. However the leakages in subsidy due to consumption by illegal immigrants and stealing at the border petrol stations has to be stopped . Hope subsidies for petrol to would be withdrawn, fair to all road users. Another bitter pill for our well being.
A oil producing country has to resort to asking money from fuel consumed is a sad scenario to its people. While they are the big corrupts out there roaming free with their stolen billions if not trillions. Otherwise it would not suffer so much that civilians have to help repay the debts. Any solution to fix such decays?
The bigger problem will take place when they rationalize RON.

Ron 95 new price will be 29 sen cheaper than the current diesel price. So we should prepare to pay about rm 3.10 per liter. So suv full tank to cost about rm 200 per week. Still okay Right?
