    That's a great bike. I'm thinking of getting this for my wife. She's exactly your build and height too, and having watched this review I believe I'm sold! :) BTW, I'm melted, it's the sweetest bike review in the entire TH-cam ;) Cheers from Poland :)

    Hi Kami- I just bought a 2021 LIV- Bliss 3. I am 5'3" and I had no clearance from the cut down center bar. So I switched to an x-small frame and much better. There are times I would prefer a step thru frame, but a good bike for under $500.00. I changed out the seat. ~ Diane

    I’m looking at an older tempt 3 in great condition. I’m 5’3” and the bike is a medium. The standover is is doable but not as roomy as I’d like and I’d have to cut a bit of seat post off to fit properly. The fit and feel seated and riding is great. Any opinions on a bike that is a bit too big?

    • @YourOwnAdventure
      @YourOwnAdventure  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Well, it will be more stable and maybe you'll be more confident on it. But a frame that is too big is harder to make work than a frame that is too small.

    Hi, Thanks for this. Reviews for petite are impossible to find. I am wondering, with the seat max down, is your forefoot able to reach the ground comfortably or your leg has to stretch out?

    • @YourOwnAdventure
      @YourOwnAdventure  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think youd be able to do that with the seat down but it would be uncomfortable to ride for long periods like that

      The tire is a larger 27.5. Have you always rode this size? Did you ever ride a quality 26 inch tire compatible to this tempt? Should I start my girlfriend off on a tire your size and be ok or should I hold back and search for a 26?

    • @YourOwnAdventure
      @YourOwnAdventure  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Taylor Adams I’d go with the 27.5. Cami rode a 26in and after a couple months felt like she had outgrown it. Mainly because 26in bikes will typically have dated geometry and features. I’d definitely go with the Tempt 3 as a platform to grow with and upgrade. Only thing I would add is, go with the biggest size you can. Cami just upgraded to the Embolden 2 by Liv and its a full inch longer than he Tempt 3 Xs. It doesn’t sound like a lot but it makes the Tempt 3 feel less confident to her. Essentially the Tempt in a small size is the same size as the Emboden in XS. When first starting out riding a smaller bike feels more natural, but it seems like the trend is people riding bigger bikes. Not just because it’s cooler. Bike design is just evolving and getting better with sizing and a bigger bike just feels more confident.

    Hi. I just purchased this bike in like new condition for my wife. I realize the fork is crappy, but the spring in it seems so stiff. It barely moves 30mm when I ride it and I weigh 40lb more than my wife. Did you ever investigate purchasing a softer spring from suntour?

    • @YourOwnAdventure
      @YourOwnAdventure  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Nice! It's a great bike, we still have it in the quiver. Never thought about replacing the spring but it's a possibility. You might be better off searching Facebook Marketplace locally for a suntour fork take off in new condition. They come up often and are cheap!

    • @YourOwnAdventure
      @YourOwnAdventure  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      You're welcome. Glad its helped! I would use any of the Fox models that have 120mm or less. They'll all be far better than the spring fork

    • @ramonmunoz8045
      @ramonmunoz8045 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      John De Juan I would not spend the money on a fox fork for this bike unless you happen to find one really cheap on eBay. I would suggest checking out rockshox a Reba or Recon 100-120mm

    I’m 5’5-5’6 and they told me the LIV bliss 3 xs frame. Overall it seems comfortable, now I’m wondering if I should return to instead back order the small frame. Would it make that big of a difference for should I keep it? :( I’m so torn on whether to keep. My leg extension is fine abs I don’t think I feel cramped but I also don’t know because I have nothing to compare to.

    • @YourOwnAdventure
      @YourOwnAdventure  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Looking at that frame, you would have more than enough room on the small. I personally would have suggested a small for you but you likely wont notice a huge difference depending on what you're riding. On a hardtail like the Bliss you're probably not encountering huge features where you'll notice the added benefit from riding a bigger bike. I say, at this point, bring it to a MTB specific shop and have them do a bike fit for you. There is a lot of size adjustment that can be done with handlebars, seat, stem. After that, if find you are still advancing into the sport, purchase a higher end trail bike like the Liv EMBOLDEN which is what Cami has upgraded to. For now the difference in size shouldn't make a huge difference.

    • @xobeautyxo93
      @xobeautyxo93 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@YourOwnAdventure yesss! I went back to the shop as you suggested and on the XS frame they pushed the seat back and added some extension thing to push the handle bars up and out more, changed the handlebar grips cuz the ones on the original I didn’t like… it works perfect. Super comfy, stable and aweso

    Good video, I just purchased this bike for my girlfriend so we can casually ride together. Have you had any shifting problems or the chain coming off. We special ordered a new one because the one at the Shop, the chain while shifting had problems. Basically 3 test rides with 3 problems.

    • @YourOwnAdventure
      @YourOwnAdventure  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for watching! Glad you are riding together. I'm sorry to hear about the issues you're having. I have installed a chain tensioner seen at 2:19 that prevents a lot of movement in the chain. So far we haven't had any malfunctions with the bike and it's been on some of the most rugged downhills on the East Coast and hasn't skipped a beat. Granted, she isn't bombing them at full throttle(yet). Let me know some details on what's happening and maybe I can offer some insight.
