- Support this channel on Ko-Fi at ko-fi.com/yaadein Kalyanji-Anandji are an Indian composer duo from Kutch: Kalyanji Virji Shah (30 June 1928 - 24 August 2000) and his brother Anandji Virji Shah (born 2 March 1933). The duo are known for their work on Hindi film soundtracks, with many evergreen songs being composed by them.
Some of their best-known works are Don, Bairaag, Saraswatichandra, Qurbani, Muqaddar Ka Sikandar, Laawaris (film), Tridev, Safar, etc. They won the 1975 Filmfare Award for Best Music Director for Kora Kagaz.
The duo composed many songs for Rafi Sahab. At their initial stage as music director, Rafi Sahab was their first choice of singer. They made numerous popular song with him. Film Jab Jab Phool Khile rise them to fame and there was no looking back after that. All songs of Jab Jab Phool Khile was huge hit. Beside Jab Jab Phool Khile, there many popular song with Mohd Rafi from film like Qurbani (Kya Dekhte Ho), Bluff Master (Govinda Ala Re Ala), Raaz ( Akele Hain Chehle Aao), Sacha Jhutha (Yuhi Tum Mujhse Baat Karti Hoo), Maryada (Tum Bhi Aja Ke), Haat Ki Safai (Vadaa Karle Sajna), Gopi (Sukh Ki Hai Saab Sathie), Qatilon Ka Qatil ( Yeh To Allah Ko Khabar & Oh Mere Chorni), Geet (Aaja Tujh Ko Pukare Mere Geet) & Bairaag (Sare Shaher Mein App Sa) to named a few of the popular song. In film Muqaddar Ka Sikandar where most song was playbacked by Kishore Kumar, they used Mohd Rafi to sing Kishore Kumar Rote Hua Ate Saab some lines on the sad version of the song. The collaboration of Kalyanji & Anandji with Rafi Sahab created everlasting songs in a very unique style.

Kalyan ji Anand ji are legendary music director... compared with Kishore da they under used Rafi Sahab...in the last year's of Rafi Sahab they almost ignored him n always preferred Kishor da. R D Burman also ignored Rafi Sahab. If these music directors have not ignored Rafi Sahab, he may have lived many years. You may not like my comments but this is true. Anyway Rafi Sahab is Rafi Sahab. There would not be another Md. Rafi...a great human being n the original voice of the God. Rafi Sahab, you are always alive inside the hearts of millions of music lovers like me.

He also died almost same age as Rafi..while he was the top singer in Bollywood...what ridiculous logic from you..Rafi always had many good songs during the 70s till his death...especially from Laxmikant Pyarelal who recorded his last song in Aas Paas...and they gave him a great hit with Dard e dil only a few weeks before his death with Karz..it is not that the music directors did not want to give Rafi more songs but most of their songs could be sung by KK only...even Laxmikant Pyarelal had to use KK in most of their songs in Karz because only KK could sing these songs..

@@amiteshkumar7107 rafi Sabah was great singer no doubt but others were great too. KK, Mahendra kapoor, Mukesh all. It's true that post Aradhna period has changed the music lovers taste and the kind of songs were liked and made, then onwards voice of KK was more suitable. Then why to blame MDs for that afterall its business! do you think if today rafi sabab was alive he must be still singing. His golden period was 1950's and 1960's.Post 1970's whenever KK and rafi sang togther clearly seen KK voice was more dominating.Rafi sabah's best association was with Golden era composers like Naushad, SJ, OPN, Ravi, Mdana Mohan and after 1970's these composers sun was set with old age and health issues. The new generations MDs find more liking towards KK what's wrong in that. Mohd rafi was still getting good number of movies.Earlier KK was not getting any offer except sometimes from SDB and most of songs were sung by Rafi Sahab in 1950's and 1960's. It's change of tables. with time.
