    I think he reached his peak - at least roughly - in that race. Maybe he could equal that time, or slightly better it, at the WCs in 2023, but I think Bolt's time is just beyond him. The only athlete I feel could approach 19,19 is Knighton and I think he will get close this season if he can run the right race. Actually, I believe Norman, Kerley, Gardiner and co should also be looking over their shoulders when it comes to the 400m. Knighton is a beast and I believe he is the best out there potentially. It's going to be an interesting season.

    • @NathanEall
      @NathanEall ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Respect to Bolt, but Bro, you do know his 100m time will continue to increase? He not long ago dropped a 60m pb of 6.51 (previously 6.55 from 2022).
      Increasing his 100m time is last piece of the puzzle. He already has a faster 2nd 100m, of the 200m, than Bolt, all Luke’s need need to do is increase his first 100m of the 200m race, then he has a very good chance of breaking the WR.
      Lyles current 100m on is 9.86, once he reaches 9.7s it’ll only be a matter of when he will break the WR

    And yet he still only broke Michael Johnson's American record by .01. Given the advancements in shoes and track surfaces? I think these days Johnson could run faster than 19.32. Call me Noah when you break 19.25. That's an impressive improvement on 19.32...but not 19.31 when it's 27 years after the record was set. And...the 200m wasn't even Johnson's main race. I don't think he even ran it much after 1998, did he?
