- TOP 5 TIPS FOR MAMMOTH CAVE NATIONAL PARK! Join Alice and Tommy T as they give you a complete 2021 tour and tips for your next trip to the Mammoth Cave Park in Kentucky. Lots of Rolling hills, deep river valleys, and the worlds longest known cave system. Mammoth Cave National Park is home to thousands of years of human history and a rich diversity of plant and animal life, earning it the title of UNESCO World Heritage Site and International Biosphere Reserve. During our 2021 National Park visit, masks were still required inside the cave, but not on the many hiking trails in the park.

Cave tours are our most popular activity and they often sell out quickly. By purchasing your tickets ahead of time through Recreation.gov, it will ensure you can get the tour you want, on the day you want, at the time you want. It is a win-win! Things To Do
Mammoth Cave National Park stretches almost 53,000 acres in the rolling hills of southcentral Kentucky, and includes river valleys, forests, historic churches and cemeteries, sinkholes and the world’s longest cave system. There is an incredible variety of activities for visitors throughout the park year-round.
Since the 1972 unification of Mammoth Cave with the even-longer system under Flint Ridge to the north, the official name of the system has been the Mammoth-Flint Ridge Cave System. The park was established as a national park on July 1, 1941, a World Heritage Site on October 27, 1981, and an international Biosphere Reserve on September 26, 1990.
The National Park Service offers several cave tours to visitors. Some notable features of the cave, such as Grand Avenue, Frozen Niagara, and Fat Man's Misery, can be seen on lighted tours ranging from one to six hours in length. Two tours, lit only by visitor-carried paraffin lamps, are popular alternatives to the electric-lit routes. Several "wild" tours venture away from the developed parts of the cave into muddy crawls and dusty tunnels.
The Echo River Tour, one of the cave's most famous attractions, took visitors on a boat ride along an underground river. The tour was discontinued for logistic and environmental reasons in the early 1990s.
Mammoth Cave headquarters and visitor center is located on Mammoth Cave Parkway. The parkway connects with Kentucky Route 70 from the north and Kentucky Route 255 from the south within the park.

I'm considering a road trip (from South Carolina) next May to take in Mammoth Cave NP and more such as Abraham Lincoln sites in KY, Daniel Boone grave site, Noah's Ark replica and Cumberland Gap National Historic Park. We love to combine National Parks into road trips. I did a search and found your video (and channel). Great video for Mammoth Cave! A quick look shows that you have a variety of other travel videos. We typically film with an Nikon DLSR D850 or GoPro (We have 4) or Iphone 14Pro Max. We cant remember, but we both think it was a GoPro outside because of the rain. Thanks for watching How To Have Fun Outdoors!

Came here to make a snarky comment but see that's already been covered. Mammoth Cave is a geological wonder though. I grew up here and we took field trips there often. I haven't been since though. Also, Etidorpha is really entertaining regarding the cave system in a fact meets "fiction" sorta way.

Hiking in the Rain adds the chill!
The rain added a chill after the cave inside air temp set at 54 degrees. Google it.
All caves sit at around 55°. They told us that at school before we went to make sure we brought jackets. Fun facts.

Next time go to Joppa baptist church it’s historical church in the area also is know to have paranormal activity along with the cave due to the original owner bought it for 10,000 USD and thought the caves temperate would solve TB in one of the caves there is a small stone hunt where the patients stayed during the trails weird little history

how far in advance can you book tickets?
Middle of the summer I would say one to two weeks for the tours. For camping on site, we booked way ahead. Like 2-3 months. For early summer late fall. I think you can book like 2-3 days before. One of the reasons we made the video was to show people the trails and others areas don’t need tickets or booking ahead. We had a lot of fun outside the caves also! I personally think they should go that route. They would make more money and have more subscribers. Either have a serious channel OR an onlyfans. Trying to mix the two doesn't work.
