Check out the oldest Fear Factory stuff when they did death metal growls. The song Scapegoat from their first album Soul of a New Machine is pretty brutal. for a 30 year old song.
It helps to realize the album is focused around the Terminator movies. Anyway...If you want to be blown away...Ne Obliviscaris. Most songs are 10+ minutes. Curator is part of a larger song but it's only a little over 5 minutes.
i mean it's not "focused around the Terminator movies", per se, but the album is indeed a concept album that tells a story which is *partially* inspired by the Terminator franchise.

You seem to be getting some crappy feedback but I like this review. You were honest and this wouldnt be a Fear Factory song I recommend to someone new to the band. You were wrong in your impressions of the bad but I understand why you got to that conclusion. Thinking about it now, if this song was one of my first exposure to them I might had gotten to those same conclusion. Anyway, thanks for keeping it real.
i honestly disagree, as this was the song that initially made me fall in love with the band, and it's still one of my favorite FF songs and one of my favorite songs in general. it showed me that not all "metal" was pure aggression and abrasiveness, but that there could be melodies and harmonies and uplifting moments. up until then, i'd stayed away from all metal genres/sub-genres. this song brought me around.
