My parents are both from Egypt, they are immigrants. They tired to teach me Arabic when I was 5 but they gave later thinking its not worth it. I know some Arabic by listening to my parents speak and when spoken too I can reply a little bit but it sound stupid so now I really want to learn Arabic so I can actually communicate with my relatives and not rely on my parents all the time.
Damn they fucked you over thinking it wasn’t such a good idea to teach you Arabic.. what kind of parents wouldn’t want their kid to be bilingual or know more languages?

As a Norwegian/algerian wanting to learn Arabic, I really appreciate the use of «æ» in the pronunciation. Found it quite amusing how we can use other languages and their alphabets to sound something out in another😄👏🏼

as a person who studied arabic when i was a child, for me it was very easy as long as you dont pressure urself! make sure to learn alphabets first and such and take baby steps. Not pressuring yourself will make you remember it more + ask the teacher if you’re really confused about something it helps so much
