anyone who thinks singing gets better with time has no idea what singing actually is
yes, playing a musical instrument takes a long time to learn not because we can't play it but because our body can't
so 95% of the process of learning a guitar is just getting the body used to it and developping muscle memory and harder skin
so the last 5% of learning that completes the 100% of the learning process is just to finally start playing it without thinking.
but the human voice isn't something that ANYONE needs time to get used to USING.. its 100% pure DNA GENETIC MEMORY
which means you are BORN a singer.. you dont BECOME a singer.. if you can't sing you will never be able to sing.
so this nonsense about "they didn't know how to sing once" is complete B.S.
and I'm not talking about runs and trills and malisma and all those vocal tricks.. those can be taught even to a non singer
but TRUE SINGING is when your brain is BORN to hear and perform CORRECT PITCH
and if someone doesn't have that naturally they can NEVER sing on pitch, ever.
99% of idols are not singers.. they're all OFF-KEY..
thats why there is such a heavy use of autotune even in RECORDING BOOTH SESSIONS THEY USE AUTOTUNE!
they're just chosen cause they're attractive and young and nothing else
and the ones who can kinda sing like AKMU or BIGMAMA, even they're a cheap generic imitation of the real thing
truth is, the DNA that is responsible for proper pitch rarely comes to an attractive person
there is an evolutionary reason behind that but you just need to know that pretty people do not have a hard life
and it takes a very hard life for a long long time to develop skills in the brain that are passed on genetically to the next generation
DISCOMFORT creates SKILL.. and life is almost never uncomfortable when you're attractive.
that is why the best singers on the planet are not attractive.
James Brown, Ella Fitzgerald, Big Mama Thornton, Little Walter, Robert Johnson, Muddy Waters, Nat King Cole. Little Richard, etc etc etc
people who are extremely different from one another but they all have one major thing in common,
THEY WERE BORN WITH A PYTHAGOREAN TURNING OF THE VOCAL CORDS
and its not a surprise that they'er all not-white cause slavery is one of the most uncomfrotable things to ever happen to human beings
and korea is famous for having the longest SLAVE OWNING PERIOD in the history of planet earth.. almost 1500 years of owning slaves
you're telling me koreans have developped singing skills while living the most comfortable life imagineable?
    MAYBE YOU DELUSIONAL MF

I'm a kpop reaction channel. I don't really care about whether the singing ability of Dreamcatcher came naturally or if they had to work hard for it. But I'll let anyone else who sees this comment debate with you if they want but I won't because I'm too employed to argue over kpop

even if you go back to watch Minx live performances, you'll see the girls were already very strong in their talent even before Dreamcatcher debuted - which is why the CEO took another chance on them with Dreamcatcher's redebut. He knew it was Minx's concept that was at fault, not the girls. It worked out. We got the dark angels of kpop, and the girls themselves are far happier with this concept, too!

Of course we want to see Goodnight!
It's a direct sequel to the Chase Me video, the next is a prequel in case you get confused!

I definitely agree that Dreamcatcher pioneered the rock sound into kpop ever since they debuted, coz back then it was all cutesy, very pop, or heavy use with edm/digital sound but never focusing on rock that much. And I'm pretty sure around 2017, after DC's debut, other groups were definitely taking in the rock sound more and more as years went by which honestly makes me proud.
Literally Dreamcatcher walked, so other groups could run

"Chase me" was their debut, released on January 13th (a Friday), 2017. It must have been nerve-wrecking for the members, re-debuting with a genre that is not popular in Korea after Minx failed. (5 of them were Minx before.) But they already doubled their sales with this. And they stuck with the Rock/Metal vibe until today, now selling 50 times the albums than Minx did.
This is the start of the Nightmare arc, which spans 6 MVs and 1 Japanese release. They are Nightmares here, and the Nightmare hunter is trying to dispel them - how that turns out is shown in the next one, Good Night. Their dance costume here is like a shortened Yukata, except wrapped right over left, something that's usually only done for the deceased. Fits well into the horror concept!
Remember the ending here for when you react to Good Night!

    Wrong title xD
0:05 Technically it all started with Minx...
But yeah, Dreamcatcher's debut sounds like an anime opening. Mostly because they took inspiration and fused jrock and kpop, wich for me is a peak idea.
This song is the first part of the Nightmare series, it has 7 title tracks (Chase Me, Good Night, Fly High [wich is the prequel], You and I, What, Piri and Breaking out [wich is an alternative ending])
And yes, of course we want to see those reactions, more Dreamcatcher = better life
Btw, if you wanna check out the very beginning or these girls you can react to the group called Minx, they only have 2 title tracks ('Why did you come to my home' and 'Love shake') and I must say that the difference in concepts is crazy.

A fair few groups have dabbled in similar concepts, but sound-wise I think there's only been a few one-offs. Possibly Pink Fantasy & Pixy.
But there's of course Rolling Quartz, but they are a band, not a K-pop group.
