this game brings to life one of my reoccurring nightmares, falling down and not being able to get up for the life of me, just being stuck in agonizing jelly legs and having no strength or balance at all, while being completely mentally coherent lol
I've been playing this for the past few days, and this game can be kind of awesome. When the demo first came out, I mostly saw streamers playing it as a funny, "look at me helicopter" game - but back then I saw that it's one of those games with a high skill cap, where most of us are going to look like drunks. Over the past few days on this playtest, I've been really dialling down on getting the physics to work for me, and it can be surprisingly realistic. You'll get these wins where you cut into a man's swing, cutting his hand, making him drop his weapon. Or you'll get in grappling range with your longsword and be able to halfsword in a way that locks their weapon up against you, while you can drive your edge or tip into their throat. I've even be trying to "leg charge" (short crouches) swings to cut to their legs or up under arms, as well as adding sideways "lunges" into strikes. Biggest things that seem to be needed now is more precision in thrusts, and getting all that psycho blood and gore back :^)
This game is really genuinely impressive with it's physics. I've been looking for a game like this for quite a while. This game has some of those physics based combat moments where I just go, "Wow, that was so fucking cool." My only complaint is I wish there was a bit more on the ground action. Being able to drive a dagger in the gaps of armor would be really cool, but I have no clue how or if that would even be possible in this game. And I too can't wait for gore to be added back :)
@@mrzacnono For ground stuff, I find that your best bet is to try and half sword with the longsword and thrust. It makes thrusts somewhat workable. But yeah, the whole thrusting/stabbing is the clearest bad-thing right now; but I'd think it wouldn't be that hard to just improve the ability for the tip to follow your mouse. As I said with half-swording, it already seems to be the case that shorter weapons are easier to aim with thrusts; which is as it should be. Just needs some buffs, pretty much
The goedandag is Dutch, not German. i was so confused for a second lol. Love the video and how you use techniques like zhornhau and nebenhut and I think you used pflug at one point. Good stuff, God bless you
2:05 I believe that sword your opponent is carrying is called a falchion, you can tell since it’s a single edged sword rather than a double edged one. Falchions come in many shapes too! :)
the sword is good for unarmoured fights but I personally think the great hammer is best for armoured since it is really easy to knock them out (i switch to the sword for brave stand)
personally I like to use a sword and I just grab my opponent with my left hand then drop the sword and grab with my right and throw them off balance then switch to a mace

Nah, hearts in the middle of the chest it's just the right side has the job of pumping the blood through the whole body so it's beats are stronger and easier to feel than the left side.

They removed it due to submitting the game to the Tokyo Game Show (they have a no blood and gore policy). They will add it back in an update in about a month or two!

It does have first person actually! It is a little wonky, but it is good fun. I have a video of purely some first person gameplay on my channel.
It does have First person view, it's just alot more janky.
you can lower your sensivity in the settings to get more accuracy and block the attacks better
