Great tour Jayman! I usually go past those areas for when I go to College down the street, but never pay much attention. Have you ever gone to Nick’s the burger place? Always go past it but smells pretty good 👍🏽
Wow, this brought back really good memories. I went to Troy High School in the early 90s, not far from there. And then Fullerton College. Another great video and preservation of local commercial history. Please keep them coming.
Fullerton used to have a bunch of drive threw convenance stores in the 80s. As a kid used to think they were so cool. Downtown old Fullerton always been my fav.
You're so right Jayman, gotta commit as much as possible on film and video of these spots because it's just a matter of time before they all get redeveloped into boring looking apartments or cookie cutter retail buildings. Matter of fact that crusty area there on Chapman and Raymond looks like it's supposed to be future student housing called the Hub. I miss the Hub coffeehouse in downtown Fullerton where Slidebar was, Kalaveras now I guess. Regan Years, cool old arcade. Love your videos man.
Yeah, so much has changed in my area that hasn't been filmed but long gone now. So i should document locations all over these days before modernization sets in & takes over more and more
I know that area pretty well. My grandmother on my father’s side lived on Victoria Dr in the 1980’s. There’s a Polly’s Pie restaurant in that parking lot you were in at the beginning. Raymond Ave leads up to the Skyline circle around the expensive houses. Very nice view from there. Hillcrest Park is one of the best parks in OC.
Interesting video of non0descript strip malls. Walgreens - They, CVS, and Rite Aid all tried to expand really fast in 2009-2010 on some consulting reports that boomer retirements were going to create huge opportunities for medical-oriented money making, so they all built like crazy on every available street corner. The huge opportunities never materialized so now they are stuck with a lot of debt and a lot of non-profitable store locations. You should have tried the door on that post office. If it has P.O. boxes the lobby is usually open so folks can come in and pick up mail. The one closest to me had their lobby open 24hrs for P.O. box and mail-drops, now only 6AM-8PM (closed all day Sunday) due to attempted thefts from the P.O. boxes. Too much theft, sign-of-the-times. 😟
same with the costa mesa post office. Was open 24 hours until about 8 years ago.... homeless were sleeping inside, charging their phones and other stuff so hours were drastically cut
Know the area well. I graduated from cal state Fullerton and my dad owned the villa del Sol on harbor.
I've only been to Villa Del Sol once as i recall is was nice there.
wow. Villa Del Sol is so pretty

Goodwill was there too
Yes it was. I went in there 1st but not in vid
it was a US Bank
Is that Route 66 Liquor sign still there? I want to go by and take a pic. It looks like a classic.
@@abashardoust yes it's still there & If you go across the street and go in the goodwill there is a classic sign on the wall in there too.

there was a fire in that parking lot behind Walgreens... I think a big restaurant burned down. Family hasn'tdone anything with the land
