I actually hate watching his interviews (i do enjoy listening to them like a radio talk) because of how uncomfortable he looks during interviews. I love NF and I hate seeing him in such situations, specially with all the fake interviewers around him who have to be someone else other than who they really are because that's what their job requires them to do

Going to therapy, gaining more wealth, makes it possible to slow done a bit which gives him the opportunity to get into a better place mentally. More writing, more experimenting with his sound. I totally relate to NF when he said talking about OCD is embarrassing. I've tried to talk to my friends and my parents about it but they just don't really understand. I'm really appreciative that he was willing to share about his OCD.
Find someone you trust outside of family to talk about it. It's important. There's no cure other than submergent therapy so the fact that you are willing to talk about it says a loyal of good things about your self awareness and strength.

His explanation of OCD is on point! The control thing is really difficult. My biggest issue was not being allowed to talk with people about stuff that I was going through because that was my ritual and if I didn't talk about it, then I just freaked out, but the more I did the more I felt like I wasn't normal and the more I would convince myself that I was a terrible person because most of the obsessions in OCD aren't normal, so when my therapist told me I wasn't allowed to talk with others about my depressive thoughts I about blew up because I felt like she was just controlling me. Yet when I stopped reporting every single thing that came up in my head and stopped seeking approval from others I was less anxious.
He has such a beautiful soul, because he’s so genuine. I would feel just as uncomfortable with all these eyes on me judging me, and he still powers through it. That’s strength
I understand this dude on another level and its crazy how the problems in his songs are relatable asf, gives me joy knowing im not the only one whos mind works differently than everyone else
The reason I loved NF when I first heard him on the song The Search is because he's the first rapper who I heard talking about OCD. I have been diagnosed with OCD and I always felt like noone understands me and I couldn't find artists that talk about that thing and Nate completely changed that. I finally found a rapper that I love their music, their style and I can deeply relate to a lot of things they rap about.
I have OCD that started really attacking a couple of years ago. The subject of them is something I can only talk about with a few people, including therapists, but it sucks. It's nice having an artist talk about it in a real way and not the whole "I like things to be orderly and perfect" and that's all which isn't really all OCD is

I have the same exact thing with my OCD. I guilt myself for "lying," even if it isn't a deceitful lie, but more of a mistake. Like if I tell someone what time I showed up to a party, I would have to tell them as close as possible to the actual time as I can. If I showed up at 8:53 instead of 9:00, I'll have to say "ABOUT 9:00, maybe a little before. I think around 8:50-8:53." I can't just round up without mentioning it.
I was literally going to sleep in my closet once but my closet smells bad and I don't know why. I had to take my cloths out and I cleaned it and it still smells bad. It smells like old people in my closet.

As someone with OCD i’ve grown to love NF because he’s so real and I relate to him on a deep personal level - in terms of his pain and struggle. Trying to write some lyrics of my own as well.
I love him informing people about OCD. As someone who struggles with OCD, it's so hard to explain to family members and friends that OCD is not just being "organized." I'm so glad that he can speak to so many people through his music and bit by bit it can inform more and more people about the misconceptions of OCD!
Talking about mental health is brave he puts the reality of it in his raps. He rlly goes thru what he talks about in his songs and more people need to listen. His body language rlly shows that he has severe anxiety and discomfort around people from past traumas.From covering his face with his hat, the leg shaking to intterupting the girl to get the interview over with. It helps to know you're not alone thanks NF.

It's incredible how relatable NF is, Especially the OCD part, I don't have OCD but I have this thing where I can't go out and eat with people in public, I always hate going out in the morning for breakfast or anything related to that, My anxiety kicks in and shit just hits the fan. NF is on another level.

I've had OCD since I was 7, and I am 17 now. I didn't know until I was fourteen. I relate so much to him. I never feel good enough. I feel like I have to be better. It drives me, but it's unrealistic. Because then when I do not meet "perfection," it just feels even worse. I am 7 months behind in school right now due to my OCD, Anxiety, Depression, and ADHD. It is sooo soo hard. I feel like my future is ruined and there is no way to come back from this. I haven't felt happy for 3 years- or even more than that. I feel numb, and hopeless. It's good to see someone talking so openly about how difficult it is to deal with.
This is my first real encounter with NF. He is so interesting, and obviously in it for the pure love of music-only. That’s refreshing. That’s why his work is so amazing. Also, I know a lot of people are down on the interviewer, but I thought she had good energy. He knows he’s in a world full of people cursing, even if he doesn’t choose to do so... I really enjoyed seeing him in interview and will DEFINITELY be exploring more of his music!
I feel like Nate might be alot of things but materialistic isn't one of them. He's not going to be happy till he's done telling his story. His records are a story about a journey threw life in an intense analytical perspective.
For some reason I cant get into 21 pilots.. only liked heathens.. they have good lyrics but music itself easily sounds indie pop generic.. Idk I guess my way of being emotional is mostly anger/frustration and maybe why I prefer NF's dramatic cinematic sound of his raps/songs

I completely agree. I think people are too hostile over her being caught off guard that he finds inspiration to write in a small confined place. It shocked me too. That shits interesting, a lot of people don't do that. It's inspirational creatively, and I think anyone would get caught off guard if they weren't too familiar with his music.

NF is a GOAT 🐐 🙌 there's not too many rappers or artists in general on his level, period. As someone who struggles with mental health issues such as depression, anxiety, and ADHD, NF is one of the few I can relate to. His music actually helps me far more than any therapy session, I'm sure a lot of people out there agree with me.
I can't relate much with his OCD or bad depression but when he mentions how he was still sad when having everything imaginable, I could relate. I felt the same way when I got to go on a beautiful trip to Italy yet I felt guilty for not feeling that happy about it.
This interview made me love him even more, the fact that he opened up about the OCD and was so vulnerable and open is how you help people understand and break stigma. I knew exactly what he was talking about.

The first time I listened to NF I was struggling in the middle of an OCD loop that I didn’t bother telling anyone about and kept it to myself cause I was afraid of getting shamed for it. When I listened to NF’s songs it felt extremely relateble, then I knew it was because he got OCD too, and this made me kinda relieved, that there is someone going through the same thing I’m struggling with and he can express it with words in an artistic way, I wish he could know that his songs helped me when I was in my worst, and I’m grateful to him
Please, please, please, write a book about your struggles with OCD. As hard as it would be to do and how uncomfortable it would make you, I really think this is so needed. First artist to actually, GET IT. All of us with OCD would love for people to understand it better and not feel like such a freak to society. It would help so many people.
I always knew I had/have OCD but I haven’t been diagnosed but I just know. I think alll day everyday about everything non stop, I do what NF does where I put certain clothes on and get anxiety about not wearing the right clothes cause of how he explained it. I wash my hands several times a day even when I am just switching water from tap to jug, or just touching anything and if I don’t wash my hands I get anxiety and think about it a lot and get icky. I think I need to get diagnosed idk I just don’t want to be medicated either. Everyone who deals with it I feel you and I respect NF a lot for being open. I can tell his anxiety shows a lot to. Cause I get the same way it’s very trippy and cool to feel I can relate though.
I loved the wall analogy. As a person who struggles with these types of things, the bit about the wall fits well with what goes on in most people’s brains with OCD, or just people in general.

My biggest issue was not being allowed to talk with people about stuff that I was going through because that was my ritual and if I didn't talk about it, then I just freaked out, but the more I did the more I felt like I wasn't normal and the more I would convince myself that I was a terrible person because most of the obsessions in OCD aren't normal, so when my therapist told me I wasn't allowed to talk with others about my depressive thoughts I about blew up because I felt like she was just controlling me. Yet when I stopped reporting every single thing that came up in my head and stopped seeking approval from others I was less anxious.

The reason I loved NF when I first heard him on the song The Search is because he's the first rapper who I heard talking about OCD. I have been diagnosed with OCD and I always felt like noone understands me and I couldn't find artists that talk about that thing and Nate completely changed that.
I finally found a rapper that I love their music, their style and I can deeply relate to a lot of things they rap about.
I have OCD that started really attacking a couple of years ago. The subject of them is something I can only talk about with a few people, including therapists, but it sucks. It's nice having an artist talk about it in a real way and not the whole "I like things to be orderly and perfect" and that's all which isn't really all OCD is
I too have OCD, and I believe that the only positive to this illness is finding our man here, NF. Illness secludes, so it's amazing to find one another

I have the same exact thing with my OCD. I guilt myself for "lying," even if it isn't a deceitful lie, but more of a mistake. Like if I tell someone what time I showed up to a party, I would have to tell them as close as possible to the actual time as I can. If I showed up at 8:53 instead of 9:00, I'll have to say "ABOUT 9:00, maybe a little before. I think around 8:50-8:53." I can't just round up without mentioning it.

As someone with OCD i’ve grown to love NF because he’s so real and I relate to him on a deep personal level - in terms of his pain and struggle. Trying to write some lyrics of my own as well.
I love him informing people about OCD. As someone who struggles with OCD, it's so hard to explain to family members and friends that OCD is not just being "organized." I'm so glad that he can speak to so many people through his music and bit by bit it can inform more and more people about the misconceptions of OCD!

Talking about mental health is brave he puts the reality of it in his raps. He rlly goes thru what he talks about in his songs and more people need to listen. His body language rlly shows that he has severe anxiety and discomfort around people from past traumas.From covering his face with his hat, the leg shaking to intterupting the girl to get the interview over with. It helps to know you're not alone thanks NF.

It's incredible how relatable NF is, Especially the OCD part, I don't have OCD but I have this thing where I can't go out and eat with people in public, I always hate going out in the morning for breakfast or anything related to that, My anxiety kicks in and shit just hits the fan. NF is on another level.

I've had OCD since I was 7, and I am 17 now. I didn't know until I was fourteen. I relate so much to him. I never feel good enough. I feel like I have to be better. It drives me, but it's unrealistic. Because then when I do not meet "perfection," it just feels even worse. I am 7 months behind in school right now due to my OCD, Anxiety, Depression, and ADHD. It is sooo soo hard. I feel like my future is ruined and there is no way to come back from this. I haven't felt happy for 3 years- or even more than that. I feel numb, and hopeless. It's good to see someone talking so openly about how difficult it is to deal with.
This is my first real encounter with NF. He is so interesting, and obviously in it for the pure love of music-only. That’s refreshing. That’s why his work is so amazing.
Also, I know a lot of people are down on the interviewer, but I thought she had good energy. He knows he’s in a world full of people cursing, even if he doesn’t choose to do so...

I didn’t think this interviewer was bad, he ended up really opening up about his ocd towards the end so obviously he wasn’t uncomfortable. Just my opinion though.

I completely agree. I think people are too hostile over her being caught off guard that he finds inspiration to write in a small confined place. It shocked me too.

NF is a GOAT 🐐 🙌 there's not too many rappers or artists in general on his level, period. As someone who struggles with mental health issues such as depression, anxiety, and ADHD, NF is one of the few I can relate to. His music actually helps me far more than any therapy session, I'm sure a lot of people out there agree with me.
I can't relate much with his OCD or bad depression but when he mentions how he was still sad when having everything imaginable, I could relate. I felt the same way when I got to go on a beautiful trip to Italy yet I felt guilty for not feeling that happy about it.
This interview made me love him even more, the fact that he opened up about the OCD and was so vulnerable and open is how you help people understand and break stigma. I knew exactly what he was talking about.

I feel the same way about my writing! Sometimes I spend weeks trying to write for something and get nowhere and then other times, i write my best song in 15 minutes! Creativity is a tightrope!

The first time I listened to NF I was struggling in the middle of an OCD loop that I didn’t bother telling anyone about and kept it to myself cause I was afraid of getting shamed for it. When I listened to NF’s songs it felt extremely relateble, then I knew it was because he got OCD too, and this made me kinda relieved, that there is someone going through the same thing I’m struggling with and he can express it with words in an artistic way, I wish he could know that his songs helped me when I was in my worst, and I’m grateful to him
Please, please, please, write a book about your struggles with OCD. As hard as it would be to do and how uncomfortable it would make you, I really think this is so needed. First artist to actually, GET IT. All of us with OCD would love for people to understand it better and not feel like such a freak to society. It would help so many people.

I always knew I had/have OCD but I haven’t been diagnosed but I just know. I think alll day everyday about everything non stop, I do what NF does where I put certain clothes on and get anxiety about not wearing the right clothes cause of how he explained it. I wash my hands several times a day even when I am just switching water from tap to jug, or just touching anything and if I don’t wash my hands I get anxiety and think about it a lot and get icky. I think I need to get diagnosed idk I just don’t want to be medicated either. Everyone who deals with it I feel you and I respect NF a lot for being open. I can tell his anxiety shows a lot to. Cause I get the same way it’s very trippy and cool to feel I can relate though.
