This might be an unpopular opinion but this games story is the most entertainment I have received from a game's story since last of us part II.
The gameplay is fun and reminded me of resident evil 2 remake but the first couple "boss encounters" were a bit underwhelming.

Alan Wake 2 was the most immersive game I've ever played. A true masterpiece with nothing else like it.

This. I replayed this part of the video multiple times to make sure I didn't imagine what I had heard - this is wonderful poetry! I really like this little Easter Egg Kev did in his script, it is a wonderful compliment to the game and reminds me of how Ralph from SkillUp approached his review of Kentucky Route Zero

the way you saw ahti walked away from him because you were scared then realized you had to walk in so you immediately started walking toward the corner trying to avoid any scare is hilarious and exactly how i played a majority of the game. only difference was i didnt so that at that moment because i recognized ahti from control and wanted immediately out of that stage area because it was so unknown hahaha

I think Alan Wake II is drawing connections to Control (and its probable upcoming sequel) since it talks about red mists and Ahti showing up
The first crime scene is in an area with access prohibited by the Federal Bureau of Control. I kind of hope they can get Max Payne linked into the Remedy-Verse as well.

I really enjoyed alan wake and the sequel. I do understand the game isn't for everyone but if you are into survival horror games then I definitely recommend it, just know the story is a bit complicated but in a good way if your really into lore

Without spoiling too much yes, a ton of elements from Control are pivotal to the plot of Alan Wake 2, and it is heavily referenced.
Also for anyone wondering no you dont need to but yes you should play control before Alan Wake 2 it will make the experience better.

i just want to point out that the janitor in this game and the janitor in control are the same guy and that in the end of the video the "federal bureau of control" comes which is the bureau that Jesse investigates in "Control". So i did some research and apparently alan wake and control actually take place in the same universe. Fun fact.

It's really crazy how far graphics have come
Just wish it was more optimised. The fact I can't get a solid 60fps on a 3070 with dlss is bad. However it does hit and even exceed 60fps sometimes, and the game is beautiful and interesting like the original.

Is Alan Wake 2 supposed to be about finding his wife now or did they decide to change the story
In American Nightmare, Alan doesn't actually escape, he is in one of the episodes of that TV series for which he wrote.
In the game, he needs to face Scratch, who is a copy of evil, who is trying to escape to the real world and kill Alice. The whole game has a movie feel, a movie that was written and made by Alice. That's why in the end they meet, but unfortunately Alan ends up not leaving his dark place in that game.

The game has hard locked me in the we sing chapter. I can't progress further the plot board to end the chapter. No controls are showing up on my screen at all. Today I deleted my whole save and started the game from "scratch" but that didn't help either. I'm frustrated please help
