@@KenziBabenzi it looks somewhere in the California floristic province Apple valley would be in the Mojave desert region. pretty area where he's filming but coastal sage scrub definitely does not grow in the desert and neither do the coast live oaks . Chaparral doesn't grow in the desert I hope he could say what's the location it's beautiful
Yes, but trails are safer, easier to walk on, tend to go by most of the interesting sites, are maintained for the purpose by the government, easier to get help on in case of emergency, and legal to hike on......NOT. haha Just stay out of the areas I'm exploring, OK? ;-)

Doesn’t look like high desert, usually high desert has joshua trees. That looks more like coastal chapparral which is not high desert.
